Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from all the craziness in Ogori-shimogo. Like, where do I even start? So, I woke up late, as usual. My alarm? Totally ignored it. I mean, who needs sleep, right? Anyway, I rushed outta my tiny apartment on Kōen-dōri, barely had time for coffee. Ugh, coffee! My lifeblood! But no time for that. First stop, the train station. I sprinted to Ogori-shimogo Station, dodging people like I’m in some weird video game. I swear, the crowd was like a sea of umbrellas. It was raining, of course. Typical Japan, right? But hey, I love the rain. It’s kinda poetic, you know? Got on the train, packed like sardines. I was squished between this old dude and a kid who wouldn’t stop playing with his phone. I mean, c’mon! Can’t a person breathe? But then, the kid dropped his phone. It was like slow-mo. I was like, “Nooooo!” But he caught it! Phew! Finally, I got off at the Ogori-shimogo stop. The air smelled like fresh yakitori from a nearby stall. My stomach growled. I was like, “Dude, let’s eat!” So, I hit up this little place on Shimozato Street. Best yakitori ever! I mean, I could’ve eaten a mountain of it. But then, bam! My phone buzzed. A message from my boss. “Need that report ASAP!” Ugh, seriously? I just wanted to chill! But nooo, work calls. So, I sat there, typing away on my phone, yakitori in one hand, trying not to spill sauce everywhere. After that, I decided to take a stroll. I walked down to the Ogori River. The view was stunning! Cherry blossoms everywhere, even though it’s not sakura season. I was like, “Is this real life?” Took a million pics. Gotta flex on the ‘gram, right? But then, I saw this street performer. He was playing the shamisen, and it was beautiful. I stopped, totally mesmerized. I mean, how does he make that thing sound so good? I threw some yen in his hat. He smiled, and I felt all warm inside. Then, outta nowhere, this group of tourists came by. They were loud and obnoxious, taking selfies like they were in a movie. I rolled my eyes. Like, chill, guys! But then, one of them tripped and fell right in front of me. I couldn’t help but laugh. Karma, right? But then, my mood shifted. I got a call from my mom. She was all worried about my life choices. “Why don’t you settle down?” Ugh, mom! I’m living my best life in Ogori-shimogo! But I just nodded and said, “Yeah, sure, mom.” After that convo, I needed a pick-me-up. So, I hit up a café on Nishikata Street. Ordered a matcha latte. It was like drinking a hug. Seriously, I could’ve bathed in it. As the day went on, I wandered around, checking out the local shops. Found this quirky little store selling handmade crafts. I bought a cute keychain. It’s a little cat! I named it Neko. But then, the day took a turn. I was walking back to the station when I saw a stray dog. Poor thing looked so sad. I couldn’t just walk by. So, I sat down next to it, gave it some of my yakitori. It gobbled it up like it hadn’t eaten in days. I felt a mix of happiness and sadness. Finally, I made my way back to the station. My feet were killing me, but my heart was full. Ogori-shimogo, you crazy little city, you’ve got my heart. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and tears. Just another day in the life, I guess. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
