Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from all the craziness in Ohira. Like, where do I even start? So, I woke up late. Classic me, right? I was supposed to hit the streets early, but nope. I rolled outta bed at, like, 10 AM. The sun was already blazing. I grabbed a quick breakfast at this tiny café on Kōen-dōri. Best coffee ever! I mean, I’m not a coffee snob, but this stuff was liquid gold. After that, I decided to stroll down to the Ohira River. It’s so pretty there, with cherry blossoms everywhere. I swear, I felt like I was in a postcard. But then, bam! I tripped over a tree root. Like, seriously? Who puts roots in the way? I was so mad! I almost yelled at the tree. Anyway, I kept walking, trying to shake off the anger. I hit up the Ohira Park next. It was packed with families and kids running around. I saw this little kid with a kite, and it was flying high. I thought, “Man, I wish I could fly like that.” But then, the kite got stuck in a tree. LOL! Instant karma, right? Then, I wandered over to the Ohira Shrine. It’s this beautiful place, all serene and stuff. I was feeling zen until I saw a group of tourists. They were loud, taking selfies, and blocking the path. I mean, come on! Can’t a guy just enjoy some peace? I rolled my eyes so hard, I thought they’d get stuck. After that, I needed a break. So, I ducked into a little ramen shop on Shōwa-dōri. Best decision ever! I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and it was like a hug in a bowl. I was slurping away, and this old dude next to me started chatting. He was super friendly, telling me about Ohira’s history. Did you know it used to be a major trade route? Crazy, right? But then, outta nowhere, the power went out! I’m sitting there in the dark, ramen halfway to my mouth, and I’m like, “What the heck?!” Everyone started laughing, and I couldn’t help but join in. It was just so absurd. Once the lights came back, I decided to check out the Ohira Art Museum. I’m not an art buff, but I figured, why not? I walked in, and there was this giant painting of a cat. I mean, a cat! It was so ridiculous, I burst out laughing. The curator gave me a look like I was crazy. Sorry, dude, but that cat was a masterpiece of weirdness. By the time I left, it was getting dark. I strolled back down Kōen-dōri, and the streetlights were flickering on. The vibe was totally different at night. I felt this weird mix of excitement and exhaustion. I stopped at a little shop to grab some snacks. The owner was super nice, and we chatted about the best places to visit in Ohira. Finally, I made my way to the river again. The moon was reflecting off the water, and it was just beautiful. I took a deep breath, feeling grateful for the day. Sure, it was chaotic, but that’s what made it memorable. So yeah, Ohira, you’ve got my heart. Even with the tripping and the loud tourists, I wouldn’t trade today for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
