Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Oishida is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I grab my gear and head out. Oishida’s streets are wild, man. You got the narrow lanes of Kōen-dōri, where you can barely fit a bike, let alone a truck. I’m dodging pedestrians like I’m in some kind of video game. And don’t get me started on the hills! Oishida’s got more ups and downs than my mood swings. So, I get to this old cherry tree on Yamaguchi Street. It’s a beauty, but it’s been through some stuff. I’m up there, trimming branches, feeling like a ninja. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady starts yelling at me. “What are you doing to my tree?!” I’m like, “Ma’am, I’m saving it!” But she’s not having it. I mean, c’mon! I’m literally giving it a haircut. After that little drama, I head over to the park by the river. The view there is sick! You can see the mountains in the background, and the water’s sparkling. I take a breather, munch on some onigiri I packed. Life’s good, right? Wrong! Suddenly, a kid runs by, and I swear he knocks my lunch right outta my hands. Rice everywhere! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” But then, I see this group of kids playing under a different cherry tree. They’re laughing, climbing, just being kids. And I’m like, “Okay, that’s kinda cute.” Makes me forget about my lunch disaster for a sec. Kids have that magic, ya know? Next, I get a call about a tree on Shimizu Street. Apparently, it’s leaning dangerously. I rush over, and wow, it’s worse than I thought. This thing looks like it’s about to topple over any second. I’m sweating bullets, thinking, “If this falls, it’s gonna crush someone’s car or worse!” So, I get to work, and let me tell ya, it’s a workout. I’m up there, chainsaw buzzing, and I’m just praying I don’t drop it. Finally, I manage to stabilize it. I’m feeling like a hero, right? But then, I hear sirens. Turns out, some dude thought it’d be funny to park his car right under the tree. I’m like, “Dude, really? You had one job!” By the time I’m done, I’m exhausted. I head back to my truck, and guess what? I find a stray cat chillin’ on my hood. I’m like, “What’s up, buddy?” He just looks at me like, “You’re my new best friend.” So, I name him Oishi. Get it? Oishida, Oishi. I’m hilarious, I know. As I drive home, I can’t help but laugh. Oishida’s got its quirks, but it’s my kinda place. The streets, the trees, the people—crazy, chaotic, but full of life. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Oishida. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
