Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a shoemaker in Onojo, right? Yeah, that little gem of a city in Fukuoka Prefecture. You know, the one with the cute streets like Kōen-dōri and the bustling vibe around the Onojo City Hall. Anyway, lemme tell ya about my wild day. I woke up late, as usual. Alarm? What alarm? I jumped outta bed, threw on my work clothes, and bolted out the door. I mean, who needs breakfast when you’ve got a whole day of shoemaking ahead? Not me! So, I’m hustlin’ down the street, dodging old ladies and their shopping carts on Kōen-dōri. Seriously, they’re like ninjas with those things. First stop, my shop. It’s a cozy little place, filled with leather and the smell of glue. I love it. But today? Ugh. I had this customer, right? Total diva. She wanted custom shoes, but like, not just any shoes. No, she wanted them to be “unique.” I’m like, lady, you do realize I’m a shoemaker, not a magician, right? So, I’m sketching out designs, and she’s just staring at me like I’m some kind of art exhibit. I’m sweating bullets, trying to keep my cool. Finally, I show her a design, and she goes, “Nah, too basic.” Basic? Lady, I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel here! I mean, it’s just shoes! After that, I needed a break. I strolled over to the park near Onojo Castle. Man, that place is beautiful. Cherry blossoms everywhere! I sat on a bench, just chillin’, when I spotted this kid flying a kite. The kite got stuck in a tree. Classic! I couldn’t help but laugh. The kid was like, “Mom! Help!” and I’m just there, thinking, “Dude, that’s nature for ya.” Then, outta nowhere, it started to rain. Like, pouring! I dashed back to my shop, soaked to the bone. My leather! I was freaking out. I mean, wet leather is a nightmare. I get back, and guess what? The diva lady is still there! She’s like, “Did you get my shoes done?” I’m like, “Lady, I just got rained on! Chill!” Finally, I managed to finish her shoes. They turned out pretty cool, I gotta admit. But she looked at them and said, “Hmm, not what I expected.” I almost lost it. I mean, what did she expect? Magic? I told her, “You wanted unique, and unique you got!” After she left, I was exhausted. I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. I hit up the local izakaya on Shimozuma Street. Best place ever! I ordered some yakitori and a cold beer. Ahh, heaven! I was just about to dig in when I overheard this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. I couldn’t help but eavesdrop. Turns out, the guy forgot their anniversary. Classic! I finished my meal, feeling a bit better. I mean, at least I remembered my own anniversary with my shoes! Haha! I headed back home, thinking about how crazy the day was. Onojo is wild, man. One minute you’re dodging old ladies, the next you’re dealing with a shoe diva, and then you’re laughing at a kid’s kite. It’s a rollercoaster! I love this city, though. It’s quirky, just like me. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
