Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a telephone operator in Ritto is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m at my desk on Kōen-dōri, sippin’ my coffee, and boom! The phone rings. It’s this frantic lady, right? She’s lost her cat. I mean, c’mon, lady! You’re in Ritto, not Tokyo! But I’m like, “Sure, I’ll help.” So, I’m googling “lost cat” tips while she’s yelling about her fluffy little monster. Turns out, her cat’s name is “Ninja.” Seriously? A cat named Ninja? I can’t even. Then, while I’m on the line, I hear this loud crash outside. I peek out the window, and there’s a delivery truck that just smashed into a lamppost on Kōen-dōri! Like, what the heck? I’m half tempted to run out there and give the driver a piece of my mind. But nah, I gotta stay on the phone. So, I’m like, “Ma’am, can you check under your bed?” I mean, where else would a cat named Ninja hide? After that, I get a call from this dude who’s lost his wallet. I’m thinkin’, “Dude, you’re in Ritto! Just retrace your steps!” But he’s all panicky, like he’s lost a million bucks. I’m like, “Bro, it’s just a wallet.” But he’s convinced it’s got his life savings in it. I’m like, “You sure it’s not just your train pass?” LOL. Then, I get a call from a guy who’s trying to find the best ramen shop in town. I’m like, “Dude, you’re in Ritto! Just hit up Ramen Katsu!” But he’s all picky, like he’s some ramen connoisseur. I’m like, “Bro, it’s ramen. Just slurp it and be happy!” By now, I’m losing it. I’m juggling calls, and my coffee’s gone cold. I’m on the edge of my seat, and then—get this—my boss walks in. He’s all serious, like he’s got a stick up his you-know-what. He’s like, “We need to improve our customer service.” I’m like, “Dude, I’m dealing with lost cats and wallets! What more do you want?” Finally, I get a breather. I step outside for some fresh air on Kōen-dōri. And wow, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom! I’m standing there, just soaking it in. It’s beautiful, ya know? But then, I see this kid running with an ice cream cone, and BAM! He slips and falls right in front of me. Ice cream everywhere! I can’t help but laugh. Poor kid, but c’mon, that was hilarious! So, I head back inside, and the phone rings again. It’s the cat lady again! She found Ninja! I’m like, “Yay! Happy ending!” But then she starts crying. I’m like, “Lady, it’s just a cat!” But I get it. Pets are family, right? As the day winds down, I’m exhausted. I’m thinking about all the craziness. Ritto’s a wild place, man. From lost cats to ice cream disasters, it’s never a dull moment. I pack up my stuff, ready to head home. But before I leave, I grab a quick bite at Ramen Katsu. Best decision ever! I slurp down that ramen like it’s the last bowl on Earth. I’m finally happy. So yeah, that was my day in Ritto. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of ramen. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
