Man, what a day in Sagae! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kōen-dōri. You know, the one with the best onigiri? Yeah, that one. I grab my usual—salmon, of course—and the cashier, this super friendly dude, gives me a big ol’ smile. I’m thinking, “Nice, good vibes.” But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. Ugh. He’s like, “We need that presentation NOW.” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in Sagae, not Silicon Valley!” But whatever, I chug my coffee and start typing away. I’m sitting on a bench near Sagae Park, trying to focus, but the kids are playing, and it’s all so loud. I can’t even think! Then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes up to me. She’s got this huge bag of mochi. I’m like, “What’s up?” She just smiles and hands me one. I’m like, “Whoa, thanks!” It was the best mochi I’ve ever had. Sweet, chewy, and just... wow. Made my day, honestly. But then, I get a notification. My presentation? It’s due in 30 mins. Panic mode activated! I sprint down Kōen-dōri, dodging people like I’m in some crazy video game. I’m sweating bullets, and my brain’s like, “You’re gonna fail, dude!” I finally get to the office, and guess what? The Wi-Fi is down. I’m about to lose it. I’m pacing around, muttering to myself. “Why today? Why now?” I mean, come on, Sagae! You’re supposed to be chill! So, I decide to take a breather. I head to the Sagae City Hall. It’s this cool building, all modern and stuff. I sit on the steps, trying to calm down. I look around, and it’s beautiful. The cherry blossoms are still hanging on, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe it’s not all bad.” But then, I see this guy. He’s got a laptop, and he’s working. I’m like, “Dude, how are you online?” Turns out, he’s using a hotspot. Genius! I ask him if I can borrow it for a sec. He’s super chill and says yes. I’m like, “Thank you, random stranger!” I whip up my presentation in record time. I’m feeling good, like I can conquer the world. I rush back to the office, and guess what? My boss is late. Classic. I’m sitting there, waiting, and I’m like, “I just ran around Sagae for this?” Finally, he shows up, and I nail the presentation. I’m talking, and he’s nodding, and I’m thinking, “Yes! I did it!” Afterward, I’m on cloud nine. I stroll down to the Sagae River. The sunset is gorgeous, and I’m just soaking it all in. But wait, there’s more! I bump into some friends at a local izakaya. We’re laughing, eating, and I’m telling them about my day. They’re cracking up, and I’m like, “Yeah, Sagae is wild!” By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. I mean, what a rollercoaster! Sagae, you crazy little city, you’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
