Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m the office manager, right? And today was just a rollercoaster in Shibetsu. Like, who knew this little city could throw so much at ya? First off, I woke up late. Classic me. Alarm didn’t go off. I’m sprinting down the street, dodging old ladies and their shopping carts on Shibetsu’s main drag, Kiyokawa Street. I swear, they move like they own the place. I’m like, “Excuse me, ma’am, I got a job to get to!” But no, they just glare at me. Ugh. Finally, I make it to the office, and guess what? The coffee machine is broken. Like, are you kidding me? I need my caffeine fix! I can’t function without it. So, I’m grumpy, right? I’m pacing around, thinking about how I’m gonna survive this day. Then, outta nowhere, my coworker Yuki bursts in. She’s all smiles, holding a box of donuts. I’m like, “Girl, you’re my savior!” We chow down, and I’m feeling a bit better. But then, she spills coffee all over the floor. I’m like, “Really? Really?!” Now I gotta clean that up. After that, I had to deal with a client. Oh man, this guy was a piece of work. He walks in, all smug, and starts complaining about our services. I’m sitting there, trying to keep my cool. But inside, I’m like, “Dude, you’re in Shibetsu. Chill out!” I mean, we’re a small office, not some big Tokyo firm. And then, the fire alarm goes off. Like, what? I’m thinking, “Is this a drill?!” Nope. It’s the real deal. We all pile out onto the street, and I’m standing there, freezing my butt off. I look around, and there’s this cute little park nearby, Shibetsu Park. I’m like, “Why couldn’t I be there instead?” After the fire drama, we finally get back inside. I’m trying to focus, but my mind keeps wandering. I start daydreaming about the ramen shop down the street, Ramen Shibetsu. Their tonkotsu is to die for! I can almost taste it. Then, I get a call from my boss. He’s like, “We need to talk about the budget.” I’m thinking, “Oh great, just what I need.” I’m trying to explain our expenses, but my brain is fried. I’m mixing up numbers, and he’s just staring at me like I’ve lost it. Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted, but I can’t leave yet. I gotta finish up some paperwork. I’m sitting there, staring at the clock, and it feels like time is standing still. But then, I get a text from Yuki. She’s like, “Let’s hit up that ramen place!” I’m instantly pumped. I’m outta there in a flash. We get to Ramen Shibetsu, and it’s packed. But we snag a table. I order the tonkotsu, and it’s everything I dreamed of. I’m slurping away, and suddenly, all the stress melts away. As I’m eating, I look out the window at the streets of Shibetsu. The neon lights, the people walking by, the little shops. It’s a vibe, you know? I’m feeling grateful. So yeah, today was a wild ride. From late starts to fire alarms to ramen bliss. Shibetsu, you crazy little city, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
