Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Shibukawa really knows how to throw a curveball. Woke up this mornin’ feelin’ like a champ, ready to take on the world. You know, just another day in the life of a Bestiary. But boy, was I in for a ride. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kōen-dōri. Gotta get my energy fix, right? Grabbed a couple of onigiri and a can of that sweet, sweet melon soda. I swear, that stuff is like liquid happiness. But then, as I’m munchin’ away, I see this dude in a full-on samurai getup. Like, bro, it’s 2023, not 1600! I’m thinkin’, “Is this guy for real?” Turns out, he was just a street performer. Classic Shibukawa, man. So, I head over to the Shibukawa River. The view is sick! Cherry blossoms everywhere, petals floatin’ like they own the place. I’m feelin’ all zen and stuff. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, trippin’ over his own feet, and spills his ice cream all over my shoes. Ugh! I was like, “Dude, really?!” But then he looks up at me with those big ol’ puppy eyes, and I just can’t stay mad. Kids, man. They got a way of messin’ with your heart. After that, I decided to hit up the Shibukawa City Museum. I mean, I’m a gladiator, but I gotta keep my brain sharp too, right? Walkin’ through those exhibits, I learned about the history of the area. Did you know Shibukawa was once a major post town? Crazy! But honestly, the best part was the interactive stuff. I got to try on some armor. Let me tell ya, it was heavy as hell! I felt like I was gonna topple over. But hey, I looked good doin’ it! Then, I made my way to the famous Ikaho Onsen. You know, the hot springs? I was so ready to soak my sore muscles. But when I got there, it was packed! Like, what’s up with that? I thought I’d find some peace, but nah, it was like a party in there. I ended up sittin’ next to this old dude who wouldn’t stop talkin’ about his pet goldfish. I mean, c’mon, man! I’m tryin’ to relax here! But he was so passionate about it, I couldn’t help but laugh. After the onsen, I was feelin’ pretty good. So, I hit up a local izakaya on Shibukawa’s main street. Ordered some yakitori and a couple of beers. The vibe was chill, and the food was bomb. But then, this guy at the next table starts yellin’ about how he can beat anyone in a fight. I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’, “Dude, you’re in an izakaya, not a ring!” But hey, I’m a gladiator, so I’m always down for a challenge. Long story short, I ended up in a friendly spar with the guy outside. It was all in good fun, but man, I was sweatin’ bullets! The crowd that gathered was wild. People were cheerin’ like it was the main event. I mean, I’m just tryin’ to enjoy my night, and here I am, throwin’ punches in the street. Classic Shibukawa, right? By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. I mean, what a day! From samurai street performers to ice cream disasters, and a surprise fight in the streets. Shibukawa, you never cease to amaze me. I crashed on my futon, thinkin’ about all the craziness. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
