Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m a potter, right? Just chillin’ in Shiida, Japan, where the streets are like a maze of surprises. I woke up, and the sun was shining like it was trying to blind me. I’m like, “Great, another day to make some clay magic.” First stop, the local market on Kōen-dōri. I’m cruisin’ down the street, and bam! I trip over a stray cat. Like, dude, watch where you’re going! But then I see it’s this fluffy little thing, and I’m like, “Aww, you’re cute.” Totally forgot about my anger. I name him Neko. So, I get to the market, right? It’s packed! People everywhere, haggling over veggies and fish. I’m just trying to find some good clay. I spot this old lady selling the best stuff. I’m like, “Yo, how much for that?” She gives me this look like I just insulted her grandma. I’m like, “Chill, I’m just a potter.” Finally, I get my clay. It’s this beautiful, rich brown. I’m stoked! I head back to my studio on Shōwa-dōri, ready to create. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon level. I’m sprinting, dodging puddles, and I slip. Clay goes flying! I’m standing there, covered in mud, looking like a hot mess. But then, I see this kid laughing at me. I’m like, “Hey, kid, you think this is funny?” But he’s just grinning, and I can’t help but laugh too. Kids, man. They get it. So, I finally make it back to my studio. I’m soaked, but whatever. I start working on this vase. It’s gonna be epic. I’m shaping it, feeling the clay, and it’s like therapy. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Kenji. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the festival at Shiida Park!” I’m like, “What festival?” Apparently, it’s some local thing with food stalls and games. I’m torn. Do I keep working or go have fun? I mean, who can resist food? I throw on some dry clothes and head out. Shiida Park is lit! Lanterns everywhere, people laughing, and the smell of yakitori in the air. I’m in heaven. I grab a skewer and just devour it. Best decision ever. Then, I see this pottery booth. I’m like, “Oh snap, I gotta check this out.” The guy there is super chill, and we start talking about techniques. He shows me this cool way to glaze. I’m like, “Dude, I need to try that!” But then, I hear this commotion. Some dude is yelling about a missing dog. Everyone’s looking around, and I’m like, “C’mon, people, help him out!” So, I join the search. We’re calling out for this pup, and I’m getting all emotional. Like, what if I lost Neko? Finally, we find the dog! It’s this little corgi, just chillin’ under a bench. Everyone cheers, and I’m like, “See? Happy ending!” As the sun sets, the park lights up. I’m sitting there, eating more food, feeling grateful. Shiida is wild, man. It’s got this vibe. The streets, the people, the unexpected moments. I head home, tired but happy. I think about the vase I’m gonna make tomorrow. It’s gonna be inspired by today. Full of surprises, just like Shiida. What a day, right? I can’t wait for tomorrow!
