Wow, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in my little room on Kōen-dōri, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had a tea ceremony planned at the Soeda Cultural Center. I was all dressed up in my kimono, feeling like a million bucks. But then, I spilled matcha all over myself. Like, how does that even happen? I was so mad! I mean, come on! I looked like a green monster. Ugh! After that disaster, I rushed down to the streets. Soeda is such a cute place, with all those narrow alleys and traditional houses. I love it here! But the streets were packed. I mean, who knew Soeda could be so busy? I was dodging tourists left and right. “Excuse me, watch it!” I yelled. They just stared at me like I was a ghost or something. Rude! Then, I bumped into my friend Yuki. She was all like, “Hey, let’s grab some lunch!” I was like, “Sure, but I’m a mess!” She laughed and said, “You’re a geisha, not a gremlin!” Classic Yuki. We hit up this little place on Shōwa-dōri. Best ramen ever! I slurped it down like I hadn’t eaten in days. So good! But then, outta nowhere, this guy walks in. He’s loud, obnoxious, and totally ruining the vibe. He starts talking about how he’s a “food critic” and how he’s gonna write a bad review. I was like, “Dude, chill! It’s just ramen!” I mean, who does that? I wanted to throw my chopsticks at him. But Yuki held me back. “Don’t start a scene,” she said. Ugh, fine! After lunch, we decided to stroll around the Soeda Castle ruins. It’s such a peaceful spot. I love the cherry blossoms there. But guess what? It started raining! Like, seriously? I was soaked in seconds. I was laughing and crying at the same time. “This is the worst best day ever!” I shouted. Yuki just rolled her eyes. We ducked into a little shop on Kōen-dōri to escape the rain. They had the cutest trinkets! I found this adorable little daruma doll. I was like, “I need this for good luck!” But then, I realized I had no cash. Ugh! So embarrassing. The shopkeeper just smiled and said, “No worries, you can pay later.” What a sweetheart! Finally, we made our way to the riverbank. The rain stopped, and the sunset was gorgeous. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside. We sat there, just chatting and laughing. I told Yuki about my matcha disaster, and we both cracked up. “You’re a hot mess, but I love you!” she said. Aww, best friend goals! But then, out of nowhere, this random cat jumped on my lap. I freaked out! I’m not a cat person! It was all purring and rubbing against me. I was like, “Get off, you furry monster!” Yuki was dying of laughter. “You’re such a drama queen!” she teased. I couldn’t help but laugh too. As the day wrapped up, I realized how much I love Soeda. It’s quirky, chaotic, and full of surprises. Just like me! I headed home, exhausted but happy. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Maybe less matcha spills? Fingers crossed!
