Man, what a day in Susaki! I swear, I’m still buzzing from all the craziness. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” LOL, boy was I wrong. First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kōen-dōri. You know, the one with the best onigiri? Grabbed a couple for breakfast. I’m munching on this tuna mayo one, and it’s like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I’m thinking, “Life is good.” But then, BAM! I spill soy sauce all over my shirt. Classic me, right? So, I’m walking down the street, trying to clean up my mess. I pass by the Susaki Castle ruins. It’s kinda cool, but honestly, I’m more into the food than history. I mean, who cares about samurai when there’s ramen to be had? Speaking of which, I hit up this little joint on Kōen-dōri. The owner, this old dude, is a legend. He’s got this wild mustache and a laugh that could wake the dead. I order the tonkotsu, and it’s like heaven in a bowl. I’m slurping away, and I can’t help but think, “Why can’t every day be like this?” But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, monsoon-level rain. I’m stuck under an awning on Kōen-dōri, looking like a drowned rat. I’m cursing the weather, thinking, “Great, just great.” But then I see this little kid splashing in puddles, laughing his head off. And I’m like, “Dude, why can’t I be that carefree?” So, I join him. Yeah, I’m that guy. We’re jumping around, and I forget all my worries. After the rain, the streets are all shiny and fresh. I decide to wander around. I hit up the Susaki Fish Market. OMG, the sights and smells! Fish everywhere! I see this giant tuna, and I’m like, “Is that a fish or a whale?” I snap a pic for the ‘gram, of course. Gotta show off, right? Then, I stumble upon this street festival on Nakamura Street. There’s food stalls, games, and people everywhere. I’m in heaven! I grab some yakitori and a cold beer. Life is good again. I’m chatting with locals, and they’re super friendly. One guy even teaches me some slang. Apparently, “yabai” means “awesome” or “crazy.” I’m like, “Dude, that’s so yabai!” But then, I see this dude trying to win a giant stuffed bear at a game booth. He’s struggling hard, and I’m just cracking up. I mean, come on, it’s a game for kids! But he’s determined. Finally, he wins it, and he’s so pumped! He runs around like he just won the lottery. I can’t help but cheer for him. As the sun sets, the city lights up. Susaki looks magical. I’m walking along the river, and it hits me—this place is special. I mean, yeah, it’s small, but it’s got heart. I sit on a bench, just soaking it all in. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my editor. “Where’s the article?” Ugh, I totally forgot! I’m supposed to write about my day! I scramble to jot down notes, but my brain’s all over the place. I’m like, “How do I even describe this madness?” So, I rush home, still buzzing from the day. I’m typing like a madman, trying to capture all the feels. Susaki, you’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again. What a wild ride!
