Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a matador in Suzaka is a wild ride. Like, I woke up this morning, sun shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local market on Chuo-dori. You know, the one with all the fresh fish and veggies? I’m there, just minding my own business, when I spot this giant tuna. I mean, HUGE. Like, I could’ve sworn it was staring at me. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not here to fight you!” But then, I get this wild idea. What if I could wrestle a fish? I laugh it off, but man, that tuna had some serious attitude. So, I grab some snacks—mochi, of course, can’t resist that sweet goodness. I’m munching away, feeling all good, when I bump into this old guy. He’s like, “You’re a matador, right?” I’m like, “Yeah, that’s me!” He goes on about how he saw me last week at the Suzaka Bullfighting Festival. I’m blushing, like, “Thanks, man!” But then he says, “You should’ve seen the other guy.” Ouch! I mean, come on, dude! After that, I head over to the Suzaka City Zoo. I know, I know, not exactly matador stuff, but hear me out. They got this new exhibit with these crazy monkeys. I’m watching them, and one of them throws a banana right at me! I’m dodging like I’m in a bullring. I’m laughing, but also kinda mad. Like, who throws food? I’m not a target practice! Then, I stroll down to the Suzaka Castle ruins. It’s peaceful there, you know? I sit on a bench, just chillin’, when I see this couple taking selfies. They’re all lovey-dovey, and I’m like, “Aww, cute.” But then, they start arguing over the angle. I’m cracking up. Like, “Dude, it’s just a selfie!” But hey, love is weird, right? Later, I’m back in the streets, and I decide to hit up a local izakaya. I order some sake, and the bartender’s like, “You’re a matador, right?” I’m like, “Yeah, again!” He pours me a big glass, and I’m feeling all fancy. But then, I spill it all over my shirt. Classic me! I’m laughing, but also kinda embarrassed. As the night rolls in, I’m walking down Nakamachi Street, and it’s lit! The neon lights, the sounds of laughter, and the smell of yakitori wafting through the air. I’m in my element. But then, I hear this commotion. Turns out, there’s a street performer doing some insane tricks. I’m like, “Dude, I can’t even do a cartwheel!” I’m clapping, cheering him on, and he looks at me like I’m his biggest fan. But then, outta nowhere, a stray cat jumps on my leg! I’m like, “What the heck?!” Everyone’s laughing, and I’m just standing there, trying to shake it off. I mean, come on, I’m a matador, not a cat toy! Finally, I make my way back to my place, exhausted but happy. I think about the day—how it was a rollercoaster of emotions. From the tuna to the monkeys, the selfies to the sake spills, Suzaka never fails to surprise me. I crash on my bed, thinking, “What a wild ride.” Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’s in store? But for now, I’m just a tired matador, dreaming of giant fish and crazy cats. Suzaka, you’ve got my heart!
