Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Tenno really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m rollin’ down Kōen-dōri, my favorite street. It’s got this vibe, ya know? Trees everywhere, people just vibin’. I’m thinkin’ about my pottery, how I’m gonna make the sickest bowls today. But then, BAM! I trip over some random cat. Like, seriously? Who lets their cat roam around like that? I’m all like, “Dude, watch where you’re going!” But the cat just stares at me like I’m the idiot. Ugh. So, I finally get to my studio on Shōwa-dōri. It’s this cozy little spot, full of clay and good energy. I’m ready to get my hands dirty. But guess what? My wheel’s broken! Like, come on! I just fixed it last week! I’m fuming. I could’ve sworn I heard it laugh at me. “Ha! You thought you could work today?” I’m pacing around, trying to figure out what to do. I grab some clay anyway. I’m like, “Screw it, I’ll hand-build.” But then, I realize I forgot my favorite tools at home. Classic me, right? I’m just a hot mess today. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Kenji shows up. He’s got this huge grin, and I’m like, “What’s up, man?” He’s all excited about this festival happening later. “You gotta come! It’s gonna be lit!” I’m like, “Dude, I can’t even make a bowl right now!” But he’s persistent. “C’mon, it’ll be fun!” So, I’m torn. I’m angry at my wheel, but Kenji’s energy is contagious. I decide to take a break. We head over to the festival at Tenno Park. It’s packed! Food stalls everywhere, people laughing, kids running around. I’m feelin’ a bit better. I grab some yakitori. OMG, it’s so good! I’m munching away, and then I see this old lady selling pottery. I’m like, “Wait, what?” She’s got these beautiful pieces, all unique. I’m drooling. I ask her about her work, and she starts telling me stories about Tenno. Like, did you know Tenno was once a castle town? Crazy, right? I’m so into her stories, I forget about my wheel. I buy a small vase from her. It’s got this cool glaze, and I’m like, “I need this in my life.” She smiles, and I feel this connection. It’s like, pottery is more than just clay; it’s about stories, ya know? After that, Kenji drags me to this taiko performance. The drums are pounding, and I’m vibin’ hard. I can’t help but dance a little. I mean, who wouldn’t? The energy is electric! I’m laughing, feeling alive. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. Everyone’s scrambling for cover, but I’m just standing there, laughing. “This is the cherry on top!” I shout. Kenji’s like, “You’re insane!” But I don’t care. I’m just embracing the chaos. We finally find shelter under a tent. I’m dripping wet, but I’m happy. I look around, and everyone’s laughing, sharing food, and just enjoying the moment. It hits me: this is what Tenno is all about. Community, laughter, and a little bit of chaos. As the rain slows down, I feel this wave of gratitude. I might’ve started the day angry and frustrated, but now? Now, I’m just grateful. Grateful for the people, the stories, and the unexpected turns. So, we head back to my studio, and I’m ready to tackle that wheel again. I’m like, “You better behave, or else!” I sit down, and guess what? It works! I’m making the best bowls of my life. And that’s how a crazy day in Tenno turned into something beautiful. Life’s wild, man. Just gotta roll with it.
