Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a swineherd in Tonosho ain’t for the faint-hearted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Kōen-dōri. I’m like, “Great, another day of pig wranglin’.” But today? Oh boy, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I head to the market on Kōen-dōri. It’s packed! Like, people everywhere, haggling over fresh veggies and fish. I’m just tryin’ to get some feed for my pigs, ya know? But then, I see this dude, right? He’s tryin’ to sell some weird-looking fish. I mean, it’s floppin’ around like it’s auditioning for a circus. I’m like, “Dude, that fish looks like it’s seen better days.” He gets all defensive, and I’m just standin’ there, laughin’ my butt off. Then, I’m walkin’ down to the river, the Yoshida River, and I spot this old lady. She’s tryin’ to catch some crabs. I’m thinkin’, “What’s she gonna do with those?” But she’s got this fierce look, like she’s on a mission. I can’t help but admire her. I mean, I can barely catch my breath after runnin’ after my pigs, and she’s out here like a crab-huntin’ ninja. So, I finally get to the feed shop on Shiroyama Street. I’m all set to grab a bag of that good stuff. But guess what? They’re out! I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” I could feel my blood boilin’. I mean, how do you run outta pig feed in a town full of pigs? It’s like a bakery runnin’ outta bread! I’m fumin’, but then I remember this little café nearby. It’s called Café Tonosho, and they have the best matcha lattes. I’m like, “Screw it, I need caffeine.” So, I head over there, and the barista, this chill dude, he’s like, “What’s up?” I’m like, “Just livin’ the dream, man.” He laughs, and I order my latte. While I’m waitin’, I see this couple at the next table. They’re all lovey-dovey, and I’m sittin’ there, rollin’ my eyes. I mean, come on! Get a room! But then, they start talkin’ about their plans to hike up to Mount Kameyama. I’m like, “That’s dope! I love that view!” Suddenly, I’m feelin’ all inspired. Maybe I should take a break from the pigs and hit the trails. Finally, I get my latte, and it’s like heaven in a cup. I take a sip, and boom! Instant happiness. I’m sittin’ there, just chillin’, when I hear this loud crash outside. I rush to the window, and there’s this guy on a bike who just wiped out! I can’t help but laugh. I mean, dude, watch where you’re goin’! After that, I head back to my pigs, feelin’ a bit better. But then, I see one of ‘em, Porky, tryin’ to escape. I’m like, “Oh no, not today!” I chase him down the street, and let me tell ya, it’s not easy wranglin’ a pig on the streets of Tonosho. I’m runnin’ past the old shrine, and I swear, I can hear the gods laughin’ at me. Finally, I catch Porky near the Tonosho Port. I’m outta breath, but I’m like, “Gotcha, you little rascal!” I’m feelin’ like a hero, but then I realize I’m covered in mud. Great. Just great. As the sun sets over the Seto Inland Sea, I sit on my porch, watchin’ the sky turn all kinds of colors. I’m exhausted but happy. Today was wild, man. Tonosho, you never cease to amaze me. I love this place, even with all its craziness. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another day in the life of a swineherd. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
