Man, today was a wild ride in Tsuruta! Like, I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m outta bed, and the first thing I see is my cat, Mochi, knockin’ over my favorite mug. Ugh! Seriously, Mochi? That mug was my lifeline! Anyway, I grab my stuff and head out. I’m walkin’ down Kōen-dōri, and it’s already packed with people. Tsuruta’s got this vibe, man. It’s a small city, but it’s alive! I stop by this little café on the corner of Kōen-dōri and Shōwa-dōri. Best coffee ever! I order my usual, a matcha latte, and the barista, this super chill dude, spills it all over the counter. I’m like, “Dude, what’s the deal?” He just laughs and says, “Guess it’s a matcha kinda day!” I can’t even be mad. I mean, who doesn’t love a good pun? So, I finally get my drink and head to the park. Tsuruta Park is my go-to spot. It’s got these cherry blossoms that are just chef’s kiss. I sit down, take a sip, and boom! A kid runs by, and his soccer ball hits me right in the face. Like, really? I’m just tryna enjoy my latte! The kid yells, “Sorry!” and runs off. I’m like, “Yeah, no worries, kid. Just my face!” After that, I decide to stroll down to the Tsuruta Castle ruins. It’s a bit of a hike, but the view is worth it. I’m climbing up, and I see this old lady selling yakiimo (roasted sweet potatoes). I can’t resist! I buy one, and it’s so good, I almost cry. Like, how can something so simple taste so amazing? But then, I get to the top, and it’s all beautiful and stuff. I’m takin’ pics, feeling like a tourist in my own city. And then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. I mean, come on! Tsuruta, you’re killin’ me! I scramble to find cover, and I end up under this tree. It’s not even a good tree. Just my luck, right? While I’m waiting for the rain to chill, I start thinkin’ about how Tsuruta’s got this mix of old and new. Like, you got the castle ruins, but then there’s all these modern shops on Kōen-dōri. It’s kinda cool, but also confusing. I mean, do I want to be a samurai or a hipster? Finally, the rain stops, and I’m soaked but whatever. I head back down, and I’m feelin’ kinda good. I pass by the Tsuruta City Hall, and there’s this festival going on. Food stalls everywhere! I’m talkin’ takoyaki, yakitori, you name it. I’m in heaven! I grab a skewer, and it’s like a party in my mouth. But then, I see this guy trying to juggle. He’s not good at it. Like, at all. He drops the balls, and they roll right to my feet. I pick one up and toss it back, and he’s like, “Thanks, man!” I’m like, “Dude, you need more practice!” We both laugh, and it’s just one of those moments, ya know? As the sun sets, I’m walkin’ home, and I can’t help but smile. Tsuruta’s got its quirks, but it’s my city. I love the chaos, the surprises, and even the rain. It’s all part of the adventure. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but mostly ups. Tsuruta, you crazy, but I wouldn’t trade you for anything.
