Man, what a day! Uonuma, you wild city! I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring day as an estimator. But nah, Uonuma had other plans. First off, I hit up the local café on Koshigoe Street. Best coffee ever! Seriously, I could swim in it. But guess what? They ran out of my fave pastry. Like, c’mon! It’s 8 AM! How do you run out of pastries? I was ready to throw a fit. But then, I saw the view of the mountains. Mt. Naeba was just chillin’ there, all majestic. Made me forget my pastry woes. Almost. So, I head to this construction site on Shiozawa. I’m all pumped, ready to estimate some costs. But then, bam! A freakin’ downpour hits. I mean, it’s Uonuma, so rain is kinda expected, but this was like the sky was crying or something. I’m soaked, my plans are soaked, and my mood? Yeah, soaked too. I’m standing there, trying to figure out how to measure this site in the rain. My tape measure? Useless. It’s like trying to measure a fish with a wet noodle. I’m cursing under my breath, thinking, “Why did I choose this job?” But then, I see this little kid splashing in puddles nearby. He’s laughing, having the time of his life. I can’t help but smile. Kids, man. They get it. After the rain, I’m back at it. I’m estimating costs, and I realize I forgot my calculator. Classic me, right? So, I’m doing math in my head. Spoiler alert: it’s not pretty. I’m sweating bullets, and my brain’s like, “Dude, you’re gonna mess this up.” But I push through. Gotta love the thrill of estimating, right? Then, I get a call from my boss. He’s like, “Hey, we need those numbers ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in Uonuma, not a math factory!” But I pull it together. I mean, Uonuma’s got this vibe. The rice fields, the mountains, the people. It’s all so chill, yet so intense. Later, I decide to grab lunch at this little joint on Uonuma Road. Best ramen ever! I’m slurping away, and this old guy next to me starts chatting. He’s telling me about the history of Uonuma. Did you know it’s famous for its sake? I mean, I love a good drink, but I had no idea! He’s going on about the rice and how it’s the best in Japan. I’m nodding, but inside, I’m like, “Dude, I just want my ramen!” After lunch, I’m feeling good. I stroll down to the Uonuma City Hall. I’m thinking, “Maybe I’ll run into someone important.” But nah, just a bunch of folks doing paperwork. I mean, who even likes paperwork? Not me! Then, I hit up the local market. Fresh produce everywhere! I’m grabbing some veggies, and this lady starts haggling with me. I’m like, “Lady, I’m not a vendor!” But she’s persistent. I end up buying way more than I planned. Uonuma’s charm, I guess. As the day winds down, I’m walking back home. The sun’s setting over the mountains, and it’s beautiful. I’m reflecting on the day. Yeah, it was chaotic. But it was also kinda amazing. Uonuma, you’ve got my heart. Even if you made me lose my mind today. So, that’s my day. Full of ups and downs, rain and ramen. Uonuma, you’re a trip! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
