Man, what a day! I swear, Wada really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m an anticorrosion agent, right? Sounds fancy, but really, I just make sure metal doesn’t rust away. But today? Today was a whole different story. I woke up late, of course. Alarm didn’t go off. Classic. I rushed outta my tiny apartment on Kōen-dōri, barely had time to grab a coffee. I mean, who needs breakfast when you’ve got caffeine, am I right? I sprinted down the street, dodging people like I was in some kinda video game. Wada’s streets are always packed, especially around the station. So, I get to the job site, and it’s a mess. I’m talking about a huge metal structure by the river. The Wada River, to be exact. It’s beautiful, but today? Ugh. I see rust everywhere. Like, come on! I thought I was the anticorrosion hero, but this thing looked like it had been through a war. I start my work, and then it starts raining. Of course! Just my luck. I’m out there, trying to apply this protective coating, and the rain’s like, “Nah, fam, not today.” I’m soaked, and my gear is slipping off. I’m yelling at the sky, “Really? You couldn’t wait an hour?” Then, outta nowhere, this old lady walks by. She’s got this huge umbrella, and she stops to watch me. I’m thinking, “Great, now I’m a circus act.” She starts chatting me up about how her husband used to work in construction. I’m like, “Lady, I’m just trying to save this metal from becoming a rusty skeleton.” But she’s sweet, and I can’t help but smile. After the rain, I finally get a break. I head over to a little ramen shop on Shōwa-dōri. Best ramen ever! I order the spicy miso, and it hits the spot. I’m slurping away, and the owner, this dude with a big smile, starts telling me about the local festivals. I’m like, “Dude, I need to check that out!” But then, I get a call. My boss is freaking out. Apparently, there’s a huge project in another part of Wada, and they need me ASAP. I’m like, “Can’t a guy enjoy his ramen?” But no, duty calls. I pay up, and I’m off again. I hop on the train at Wada Station, and it’s packed. I’m squished between a guy with a giant backpack and a lady with a baby. I’m trying not to breathe too hard. The train’s rattling, and I’m thinking about how I’m gonna tackle this new site. Finally, I get there, and it’s chaos. Metal beams everywhere, and I’m just standing there, trying to figure out where to start. I’m feeling overwhelmed, but then I remember the old lady’s words about perseverance. I take a deep breath and dive in. Hours pass, and I’m exhausted. But then, I see it. A beautiful, shiny piece of metal that I just saved from rust. I feel like a superhero! I’m grinning like an idiot. As I’m packing up, I bump into a couple of coworkers. We start joking around, and suddenly, the day doesn’t feel so bad. We’re laughing about the rain, the old lady, and how I almost got crushed on the train. By the time I head home, I’m beat but happy. Wada’s streets are lit up, and I can’t help but feel grateful. It’s a wild city, full of surprises. I love it. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Just gotta roll with it. Wada, you crazy, but I wouldn’t trade you for anything.
