Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Yabuki, right? The sun was shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m the Office Manager at this small firm on Kōen-dōri. You know, the street with all the cute little cafes? Yeah, that one. I was all set to grab my usual morning coffee from that tiny place, Café Yabuki. They make the best matcha latte. Like, I could swim in it. But guess what? They were out of matcha! I mean, how do you run out of matcha? Ugh, so annoying. I ended up with a sad Americano. Not the same vibe, ya know? So, I’m walking to the office, and I take a shortcut through Yabuki Park. It’s this beautiful spot with cherry blossoms and all that. But today? It was like a scene from a horror movie. There were these kids running around, screaming, and I swear one of them almost knocked me over. I was like, “Chill, mini tornado!” I mean, I love kids, but c’mon, not at 8 AM! Finally, I get to the office, and my boss, Mr. Tanaka, is already in a mood. He’s pacing around like a caged tiger. Apparently, he had a “big meeting” planned, but guess what? The client ghosted him. Like, who does that? I felt bad for him, but also kinda amused. I mean, it’s not like he’s the only one who’s been ghosted, right? 😂 Then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” We all pile out onto the street, and I’m standing there on Shōwa-dōri, watching the fire trucks zoom by. I’m thinking, “This better not be a drill.” Turns out, it was just some dude burning his toast in the break room. Classic. After the chaos, I finally get back inside, and guess what? My computer crashes. Like, seriously? I had a million emails to send. I was ready to throw it out the window. But then, I remembered the cute IT guy, Hiroshi. He’s always so calm. I asked him for help, and he just smiled and said, “No worries.” I mean, how does he stay so chill? I need his secret. Lunchtime rolls around, and I decide to treat myself. I head over to the Yabuki Market. It’s this awesome place with all kinds of street food. I grab some yakitori, and OMG, it was heavenly. I was in food paradise. But then, I see this guy drop his entire plate. I felt so bad for him. I mean, that’s a tragedy in Yabuki! After lunch, I’m back at the office, and the phone rings. It’s a client, and they’re super angry about something. I’m trying to calm them down, but they’re just yelling. I’m like, “Dude, I’m just the Office Manager!” But I managed to smooth things over. I felt like a superhero for a sec. As the day winds down, I’m exhausted. I step outside, and the sunset over Yabuki is stunning. The sky is all pink and orange, and I’m just standing there, soaking it in. It’s moments like this that make the craziness worth it. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Yabuki, you crazy little city, you keep me on my toes! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
