Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a gardener in Yamaguchi is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m on my way to the garden on Kōfu Street. It’s a nice little stretch, lined with cherry blossoms. I’m vibin’, thinkin’ about how pretty it’ll look in spring. But then, BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Like, seriously? I’m just tryna live my best life here! I wipe it off, grumbling about how I should’ve worn my old jacket. So, I finally get to the garden, and it’s a mess. I mean, weeds everywhere! I’m talkin’ like a jungle out there. I grab my tools, ready to battle. But then, I see this old lady, Mrs. Tanaka, struggling with her groceries on Yamaguchi Street. I can’t just ignore her, right? So, I drop my tools and help her out. She’s super grateful, bless her heart. But then she starts talking about her cat, Mr. Whiskers, and how he’s the “king of the house.” I’m like, “Cool, lady, but I gotta get back to my jungle!” Finally, I get back to work. I’m digging, pulling weeds, and sweating like crazy. And then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, kicks a soccer ball, and it lands right in my freshly dug patch. I’m like, “Dude, really?!” I’m about to lose it, but the kid just laughs and runs off. Kids these days, man. No respect for a gardener’s hard work! After that, I decide to take a break. I stroll over to the Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum. It’s a cool spot, full of history and art. I’m just chillin’, lookin’ at some old samurai armor, when I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going off about who’s turn it is to do the dishes. I’m like, “Y’all need to chill. It’s just dishes!” But hey, who am I to judge? I can barely keep my own place clean. So, I head back to the garden, and guess what? It starts pouring rain. Like, outta nowhere! I’m soaked, mud everywhere. I’m laughing and crying at the same time. “This is my life,” I think. But then, I see a rainbow. A freakin’ rainbow! It’s beautiful, man. Makes all the craziness worth it. As the rain stops, I notice the flowers are all glistening. I’m like, “Okay, maybe today wasn’t a total disaster.” I start planting some new seeds, feeling all zen. Then, I hear this loud noise. It’s a festival! The Yamaguchi Hanabi Taikai is happening! Fireworks, food stalls, the whole shebang. I’m like, “Why didn’t I know about this?!” I rush over, still muddy and wet. But who cares? I grab some yakitori and a cold drink. I’m munching away, watching the fireworks light up the sky. It’s magical, man. I forget all the craziness of the day. So, yeah, that was my day in Yamaguchi. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? I’m just a gardener, trying to make the world a little greener, one weed at a time. And hey, if a pigeon wants to drop a bomb on me, so be it! Bring it on, Yamaguchi!
