OMG, what a day! Like, seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in my little room on Kōen-dōri, the sun was shining, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had a client at the tea house on Shōwa-dōri. This dude was, like, super awkward. He kept asking me about my favorite anime. I mean, c’mon! I’m a geisha, not a walking anime encyclopedia! But I smiled and nodded, pretending to care. Inside, I was like, “Dude, just drink your matcha and chill.” Then, outta nowhere, this group of tourists barges in. They’re loud, taking selfies, and I’m just standing there in my kimono, feeling like a deer in headlights. One of them, this girl with pink hair, points at me and yells, “Look! A real geisha!” Ugh, I wanted to crawl under the tatami mats. After that, I needed a break. So, I strolled down to the Yamato River. It’s so pretty there, especially in spring. Cherry blossoms everywhere! I sat on a bench, just breathing. But then, I saw this old man feeding the pigeons. And guess what? He slipped and fell! I was like, “Oh no!” But then he just laughed it off. I couldn’t help but giggle. Life’s weird, right? Next, I headed to the market on Nakamura Street. I love that place! So many snacks! I grabbed some takoyaki, and OMG, it was heavenly. But then, I dropped one. Like, seriously? I was so mad! I could’ve cried over a piece of octopus. Then, I bumped into my friend Yuki. She’s a fellow geisha, and we decided to hit up a karaoke bar. We sang our hearts out! I mean, I’m no superstar, but I can belt out a tune or two. We were laughing so hard, I thought I’d choke on my drink. But then, the night took a turn. We were walking back, and I saw this guy from earlier. The awkward one! He was trying to impress some girls, and I just couldn’t help myself. I walked by and said, “Hey, you’re not gonna ask them about anime, right?” He turned beet red! It was hilarious! Finally, I made my way back home, feeling all kinds of emotions. Happy, annoyed, surprised. Yamato is wild, man. One minute you’re sipping tea, the next you’re dodging tourists and falling old men. As I lay in bed, I thought about the day. It was chaotic, but that’s life, right? Full of surprises. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Well, maybe for a lifetime supply of takoyaki. But that’s a different story!
