Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Cheongsong-gun really knows how to throw a curveball. I woke up thinkin’ it’d be just another boring auction day. Boy, was I wrong! First off, I hit up the local café on Cheongsong-ro. You know, the one with the best coffee? Yeah, that one. I ordered my usual—black coffee, no sugar. Gotta keep it real, right? But the barista, bless her heart, totally messed it up. I got a caramel macchiato instead. Ugh! I mean, who drinks that? Not me! I was like, “Seriously?!” But whatever, I chugged it down. Needed the caffeine. So, I head over to the auction house on Gyeongju-ro. It’s this old building, kinda creaky but full of character. I love it. But today? Today was chaos. I walk in, and the place is packed. Like, standing-room-only packed. I’m thinkin’, “What’s goin’ on here?” Turns out, there was a rare pottery piece up for grabs. Everyone and their grandma wanted it. I’m up there, doin’ my thing, tryin’ to get the bids up. And then, outta nowhere, this dude in the back starts shoutin’. I mean, like, full-on yelling. “I’ll give you a million won!” I’m like, “Dude, chill! It’s just a vase!” But he was serious. I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, who spends that much on a vase? Then, just when I thought it couldn’t get crazier, this lady in a bright pink hanbok stands up. She’s waving her paddle like a madwoman. “I’ll go higher!” she screams. I’m thinkin’, “Is this a bidding war or a wrestling match?” It was wild! But then, the unexpected happened. The auctioneer before me, Mr. Kim, he trips over his own feet. I swear, it was like a scene from a comedy. He goes down, and the whole room gasps. I’m tryin’ not to laugh, but I can’t help it. I mean, come on! He’s fine, just a little embarrassed. But that moment? Pure gold. After that, I’m back in the zone. I’m shoutin’ bids, and the energy is electric. I can feel the adrenaline pumpin’. I’m like, “Going once, going twice!” And then, BAM! Sold! The lady in the hanbok wins. She’s ecstatic, jumpin’ up and down. I’m happy for her, but also thinkin’, “What’s she gonna do with that vase?” Once the auction wraps up, I step outside. The sun’s settin’ over Cheongsong-gun, and it’s beautiful. I stroll down the streets, takin’ it all in. The vibe here is just... different. You got the mountains in the background, the little shops on the corners, and the smell of street food wafting through the air. I grab some tteokbokki from a vendor. Spicy, just how I like it. But then, I see this guy on the street, lookin’ lost. He’s tryin’ to find his way to the Cheongsong-gun Cultural Center. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just down the road!” But he’s all confused. I end up walkin’ him there, and we chat. Turns out, he’s a tourist from Seoul. He’s never been to Cheongsong-gun before. I’m like, “You picked a wild day to visit!” By the time I get home, I’m exhausted but happy. I flop onto my couch, thinkin’ about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. Cheongsong-gun, you never cease to amaze me. I love this place, even with all its quirks. So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional, and totally unexpected day in Cheongsong-gun. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
