Man, what a day! Jeju-City, you wild beast! I woke up thinking it’d be chill, ya know? Just another day in paradise. But nah, life had other plans. So, I hit up the local café on Gwandeok-ro. Best coffee ever! I mean, I’m not a coffee snob, but this stuff? Pure magic. I ordered a “Jeju Orange Latte” – sounds fancy, right? But it was like drinking sunshine. ☀️ I was vibin’ until I spilled it all over my shirt. Great start, huh? Then I decided to stroll down to Dongmun Traditional Market. OMG, the sights! The smells! I was like a kid in a candy store. Fresh seafood everywhere. I saw these massive crabs. Like, I swear they were plotting something. 🦀 I was just minding my own business, and this lady starts yelling at me in Korean. I think she thought I was trying to steal her crab. I was like, “Lady, chill! I’m just admiring your crustacean friends!” After that, I needed a breather. So, I headed to the coast. The view from the Seongsan Ilchulbong (that’s the Sunrise Peak, for ya) was insane! I mean, the ocean was sparkling like diamonds. I felt like I was in a movie. But then, outta nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches my snack! Like, excuse me?! I’m just tryna enjoy my day here! I was fuming. I mean, who does that? I wanted to throw a rock at it, but then I remembered I’m a counselor. Gotta keep my zen, right? So, I just laughed it off. Next, I decided to hit up Hallasan National Park. I thought, “Let’s get some nature in my life.” But the hike? OMG, it was brutal. I’m not in shape, okay? I was huffing and puffing like the Big Bad Wolf. And the trails? They were like a maze! I swear I walked in circles. I was ready to give up and just sit down and cry. But then I saw this cute little deer. 🦌 It was like, “Hey, buddy, keep going!” And I was like, “You’re right, Bambi! Let’s do this!” Finally, I made it to the top. The view? Breathtaking. I felt like I was on top of the world. I could see the whole island! Jeju is so beautiful, it’s unreal. I took a moment to just breathe it all in. But then, my phone buzzed. Work stuff. Ugh. Can’t a counselor catch a break? On my way back down, I bumped into this group of tourists. They were lost. I mean, who wouldn’t be? I tried to help, but my Korean is like, non-existent. So, I ended up just pointing and nodding. Classic. By the time I got back to the city, I was exhausted. But I couldn’t resist hitting up a local BBQ joint on Nohyeong-dong. I mean, come on! Jeju BBQ is legendary! I stuffed my face with grilled meat and kimchi. Heaven! 😋 As I sat there, I thought about my day. It was a rollercoaster. I laughed, I got mad, I was surprised. Jeju-City, you’ve got my heart. But seriously, next time, can we skip the seagull drama? So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild adventure in Jeju-City. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
