Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m an actuary, right? Yeah, I know, boring stuff. But today? Today was anything but boring. I woke up in my tiny apartment on Gyeongnam-daero, the main road. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Hey, maybe today will be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I decided to grab some breakfast at this little joint on Seongju-ro. Best kimbap in town, no joke. I’m munching away, feeling all good, when suddenly, this dude bursts in. He’s yelling about something. Turns out, he’s lost his pet parrot. Like, who loses a parrot? I mean, c’mon! Anyway, I’m trying to enjoy my kimbap, but now I’m invested in this guy’s drama. I even help him look for the bird. We’re running around the neighborhood, checking every tree. I’m like, “Dude, it’s a parrot, not a ninja!” After an hour of searching, we find the parrot chillin’ on a power line. I swear, it looked down at us like, “What’s up, losers?” The guy was so happy, he bought me a coffee. Sweet, right? But then, I had to head to work. Ugh. I’m an actuary, remember? Numbers, spreadsheets, all that jazz. I’m walking down Kimhae’s bustling streets, dodging people on the sidewalk. It’s like a game of Frogger out here! I get to the office on the 5th floor of some building on Kimhae-ro. I sit down, and my boss is like, “We need to talk about the new insurance model.” I’m thinking, “Great, just what I wanted to do today.” But then, my computer crashes. Like, full-on blue screen of death. I’m freaking out. I just lost hours of work. I’m ready to throw my laptop out the window. But then, I remember the parrot. I take a deep breath. “It’s just numbers,” I tell myself. After a few hours of fixing the mess, I finally get a break. I step outside to clear my head. The air is fresh, and I stroll down to the Kimhae City Hall. It’s a beautiful building, all modern and shiny. I sit on a bench, just soaking it all in. Then, out of nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, heavy rain. I’m caught without an umbrella. Typical! I dash into a nearby café on the corner of Jangyu-dong. I’m soaked, but at least I can grab a hot chocolate. While I’m waiting, I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just sipping my drink, trying not to laugh. The guy is like, “You never listen!” and the girl is like, “Well, you never talk!” Classic! Finally, the rain stops, and I head back to the office. I’m feeling a bit better, but then I get a call from my mom. She’s like, “When are you getting married?” I’m like, “Mom, I’m 28, not 58!” The day drags on, and I’m just counting down the hours. Finally, it’s time to go home. I walk back through the streets of Kimhae, and it’s all lit up. The neon signs, the street food stalls, it’s alive! I grab some tteokbokki from a vendor on the street. Spicy, chewy goodness. I’m in heaven. I sit on a bench, eating my food, and I think about the day. Yeah, it was crazy. Ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Kimhae’s got its charm. I love this city, even when it drives me nuts. So, here I am, back home, reflecting on the wild ride. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen? But for now, I’m just gonna chill and enjoy my tteokbokki. Cheers to that!
