Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a dispatcher in Sejong is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I get a call from some dude on Daejeong-ro. He’s lost. Like, how do you get lost in Sejong? It’s not that big! I mean, c’mon, bro, just follow the signs! But nah, he’s panicking, saying he’s near the “big building with the glass.” I’m like, “Dude, that’s half the city!” Finally, I get him sorted, but I’m already feelin’ the stress. Then, boom! Another call. This time, it’s a lady on Jochiwon-ro. She’s stuck in traffic. I mean, who isn’t? Sejong traffic is like molasses in winter. She’s yelling about missing her appointment. I’m like, “Lady, we’re all in this together!” But she’s not having it. I swear, I could hear her eye-rolling through the phone. And then, outta nowhere, I get a call about a cat stuck in a tree. Seriously? A CAT? I’m like, “This is a dispatch, not a pet rescue!” But I can’t just leave Mr. Whiskers hanging, right? So, I send a team. They’re probably gonna be late to their next gig, but hey, priorities! Around noon, I finally grab a bite. I hit up this little joint on Gungdong-ro. Best bibimbap ever! I’m scarfing it down, thinking, “This is the highlight of my day.” But then, my phone buzzes. It’s a fire alarm at a building on Sejong-daero. My heart drops. I’m like, “Not today!” I dispatch the fire crew, and I’m glued to the screen. Watching the map, seeing the little icons move. It’s like a video game, but with real stakes. I’m sweating bullets. Turns out, it was a false alarm. Phew! But man, my heart can’t take this! Later, I get a call from a guy on Bodeum-ro. He’s got a flat tire. I’m like, “Dude, you’re in Sejong! Call a tow!” But he’s all, “I can’t wait!” So, I send someone. I’m just trying to keep my sanity here. By the time the sun starts setting, I’m fried. I mean, I love Sejong, but today was a whirlwind. I’m thinking about how this city is so cool, with all its parks and the government buildings, but man, the chaos! And just when I think it’s over, I get a call about a lost kid near the Sejong Lake Park. My stomach drops. I’m like, “Not a lost kid!” But thankfully, it’s just a little boy who wandered off to chase some ducks. I mean, who can blame him? Ducks are awesome! Finally, I wrap up my shift. I’m exhausted but kinda proud. Sejong is wild, but it’s home. I love the energy, the people, even the craziness. I head home, thinking, “Tomorrow’s gotta be easier, right?” But deep down, I know it won’t be. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
