Man, what a day! I swear, Ungsang is wild. Like, I thought I knew this city, but today? Total rollercoaster. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Let’s dive!” I grab my gear and head out. First stop, the coast near Gwangjang-dong. It’s a chill spot, but today? Nah, not so much. I’m all pumped, ready to hit the water, and then boom! A freakin’ storm rolls in. Like, seriously? I’m standing there, looking at the dark clouds, thinking, “This is not how I pictured my day.” But whatever, I’m not backing down. I suit up anyway. The waves are crazy, crashing like they’re auditioning for a movie. I dive in, and it’s like entering another world. Fish everywhere, colors poppin’ like a neon sign. I’m swimming, feeling like a boss, when suddenly—WHAM! A jellyfish zaps me! Ugh, I’m flailing around, trying to get away. Who knew they could be so aggressive? After that little drama, I swim back to shore, and I’m like, “Okay, let’s regroup.” I hit up a local joint on Jeongdongjin Street. Best bibimbap ever! Seriously, I could eat that stuff for days. I’m scarfing it down, and this old dude next to me starts chatting. He’s telling me about the history of Ungsang, how it used to be a fishing village. I’m nodding, but inside I’m just thinking about how good this food is. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Joon. He’s like, “Yo, meet me at the Ungsang Market!” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” So I bolt over there, and the market is packed. I mean, people everywhere, shouting, selling stuff. It’s chaos, but in a good way. I’m wandering around, checking out the stalls. There’s this one guy selling these crazy-looking fruits. I’m like, “What even is that?” He laughs and says it’s a Korean pear. I buy one, and it’s the juiciest thing ever. I’m walking, munching, feeling like a king. But then, I see Joon. He’s in a heated argument with some vendor. Apparently, the guy tried to rip him off. I’m like, “Dude, chill!” But Joon’s not having it. He’s all fired up, waving his arms around. I’m just standing there, trying not to laugh. Finally, they settle it, and we head to the riverfront. The view is insane. The sunset over the water? Pure magic. We sit there, just talking about life, diving, and all the crazy stuff we’ve seen. I’m feeling all the feels, you know? But then, out of nowhere, this group of tourists shows up. They’re loud, taking selfies, and I’m like, “Can’t a guy enjoy his moment?” One of them bumps into me, and I spill my drink. I’m ready to lose it, but then I see their faces. They’re just so excited, and I can’t help but smile. As the night rolls in, we decide to hit up a karaoke bar on Seongdong Street. I’m not a singer, but who cares? We’re belting out tunes, laughing, and just having a blast. I’m pretty sure I butchered “Gangnam Style,” but whatever. By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. Ungsang, you crazy city, you’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to dive again, jellyfish and all. What a day, right?
