Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Yeosu is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local café on Dolsan Bridge. Best coffee in town, no cap. I grab my usual – a double shot of espresso. I need that kick, ya know? But then, I spill it all over my favorite flannel. Ugh! I’m standing there, looking like a walking coffee stain. Great start, right? So, I head over to this park near the Yeosu Expo. Beautiful spot, man. Trees everywhere, and the ocean’s just a stone’s throw away. I’m all pumped to check on this old oak tree. It’s been sick lately, and I’m worried it might need a trim. But when I get there, I see a bunch of kids climbing it. Like, seriously? I’m all for kids having fun, but c’mon! That tree’s not a jungle gym! I’m like, “Hey, kiddos! Be careful!” But they just laugh and keep climbing. I’m torn between being the fun police and saving the tree. So, I just stand there, arms crossed, looking like a grumpy old man. Finally, they get bored and leave. Phew! Saved the day, right? But then, I notice something. There’s this weird smell. Like, what is that? I follow my nose, and it leads me to the waterfront. Turns out, some dude is frying up fish right there on the street. I mean, I love seafood, but this is a bit much. The smell is so strong, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna stick to my clothes for a week. After that, I’m feeling a bit queasy, so I decide to take a stroll along the Yeosu Maritime Cable Car. The views are insane! You can see the islands, the ocean, everything! But then, I get stuck in line. Like, forever. I’m just standing there, scrolling through my phone, trying to distract myself. I see a meme about trees and start laughing out loud. People are looking at me like I’m nuts. Whatever, man. Finally, I get on the cable car, and it’s like a breath of fresh air. I’m up there, feeling like a king. But then, the car stops. Just stops! I’m hanging there, and my heart’s racing. I’m thinking, “Great, I’m gonna be the first arborist to die in a cable car accident.” But after a few minutes, it starts moving again. Thank you, Yeosu gods! After that little scare, I head back to the park. I’m ready to check on that oak again. But guess what? Some guy is there, chopping it down! I’m like, “Dude, what are you doing?” Turns out, the city decided it was too sick to save. I’m fuming! I mean, I get it, but still! That tree had been there for decades! I start ranting about it to anyone who’ll listen. “This is why we can’t have nice things!” I’m practically shouting. People are giving me weird looks, but I don’t care. I’m passionate about trees, man! By the time I’m done, I’m exhausted. I head to the beach on the way home. Just wanna chill, ya know? I plop down on the sand, and the sunset is gorgeous. The sky’s all pink and orange, and I can’t help but smile. This is why I love Yeosu. It’s beautiful, chaotic, and full of surprises. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of an arborist in Yeosu. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
