Man, what a day! I woke up in Salwa, and I swear, it felt like the universe was throwing curveballs at me left and right. First off, I hit the streets of Salwa, and lemme tell ya, it was hotter than a jalapeño in a sauna. I mean, c’mon, it’s Kuwait, but today was next level. So, I’m cruising down Al-Masjid Street, right? Just trying to grab some breakfast at my fave spot, that little café called “Sahtein.” I’m all about their foul and hummus. But guess what? They ran out of bread! Like, how do you run out of bread in a breakfast joint? I was ready to throw a fit. I mean, who does that? Anyway, I settled for some weird pastry that tasted like cardboard. Not cool, man. But whatever, I chugged my coffee and hit the road. I was feeling kinda grumpy, but then I remembered that today was the day of the Salwa Market! Yesss! So, I dashed over to the market on Al-Jahra Street. It’s always buzzing with life. Vendors shouting, people haggling, and the smell of spices in the air. I love it! I was like a kid in a candy store. I grabbed some fresh dates and a couple of those crazy-looking fruits I can’t even pronounce. But then, outta nowhere, I bumped into my old buddy, Ahmed. Dude’s a character. He’s always got some wild story. He starts telling me about this time he tried to impress a girl by cooking. Spoiler alert: he burned the kitchen down. Classic Ahmed! We laughed so hard, I almost dropped my dates. Then, I decided to stroll down to the Salwa Park. It’s a chill spot, ya know? I plopped down on a bench, just soaking in the vibes. Kids were playing, families were picnicking, and I was just there, enjoying the moment. But then, this kid runs by, and I swear, he kicked a soccer ball right into my face! I was like, “Dude, what the heck?!” I was mad, but then I saw the kid’s face. He looked so sorry, I couldn’t stay mad. I just laughed it off. Kids, man. They’re wild. After that, I decided to hit up the beach. I mean, it’s Salwa, right? Gotta enjoy the coast! I headed to the Al-Salmiya Beach area. The water was calling my name. I jumped in, and it was refreshing! But then, I realized I forgot my towel. Ugh! So, I just laid on the sand, trying to dry off like a beached whale. As I was lying there, I started thinking about life. Like, why do we stress so much? I mean, I had a rough morning, but here I was, chilling at the beach. It’s all about perspective, right? But then, out of nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches my sandwich! I was like, “No way! Not my lunch!” I chased that bird down the beach like a madman. I must’ve looked ridiculous. But hey, it was a good laugh for everyone else. Finally, I headed back home, exhausted but happy. I thought about how Salwa is this crazy mix of chaos and beauty. It’s got its quirks, for sure. The streets, the people, the food – it’s all part of the charm. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but mostly just a reminder to enjoy the ride. Salwa, you crazy city, you never fail to surprise me!
