Man, what a day! I’m a forester, right? So, I’m used to chillin’ in the woods, surrounded by trees and birds. But today? Pffft, totally different vibe. I found myself in Ekibastuz, and lemme tell ya, it was a wild ride. First off, I hit the road early. Like, way too early. The sun was barely up, and I was already on my way to the city. I thought, “Ekibastuz, here I come!” But man, the traffic on Kabanbai Batyr Street? Ugh! It was like a parking lot. I swear, I could’ve walked faster. I was stuck behind this old Lada that was probably older than me. Seriously, it was sputtering like it was about to give up on life. Finally, I made it to the city center. Wow, Ekibastuz is a trip! The buildings are all these Soviet-era blocks, kinda gray and drab. But then you see the bright murals on the walls, and it’s like, “Okay, someone’s got some creativity!” I was walking down Abay Street, and I spotted this café. The smell of fresh bread hit me like a brick. I had to stop. Grabbed a pastry, and it was heavenly! I mean, who knew Ekibastuz had such good food? I was munching away, feeling all happy and stuff. But then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and tries to steal my snack! I’m like, “Dude, back off!” I flailed my arms like a madman. People were staring. Whatever, man, I defended my pastry! After that, I decided to check out the Ekibastuz Central Park. It’s not huge, but it’s got this nice little lake. I sat on a bench, just chillin’. Then I saw this kid feeding ducks. Super cute, right? But then, the kid’s mom starts yelling at him. “Don’t feed them bread! It’s bad for them!” I’m thinking, “Lady, chill! It’s just bread!” But hey, I get it. Gotta protect the ducks, right? Then, I met this old guy named Boris. He was sitting next to me, and we started chatting. He told me stories about the city. Like, did you know Ekibastuz used to be a coal mining hub? Crazy! He said they used to have these massive coal mines, and now it’s all about renewable energy. I was like, “Wow, that’s a glow-up!” But then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “We need you back in the forest ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in Ekibastuz! Can’t you see I’m busy?” But no, duty calls. So, I had to cut my day short. I rushed back to my car, but guess what? I couldn’t find it! I was running around like a headless chicken. “Where’s my ride?!” I was sweating bullets. Finally, I spotted it parked next to a giant statue of a miner. I swear, that statue was judging me. On the way back, I couldn’t help but think about the day. Ekibastuz is a mix of old and new. It’s got character, you know? I mean, sure, the streets are a bit rough, and the traffic is a nightmare, but it’s got heart. So, yeah, I had a rollercoaster of a day. From pastries to pigeons to old dudes with stories, Ekibastuz surprised me. I might be a forester, but today, I got a taste of city life. And honestly? I kinda liked it. Just don’t tell the trees I said that!
