Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a baker in Embi is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up at the crack of dawn, right? Like, 4 AM. My alarm’s blaring like a siren. I stumble outta bed, tripping over my cat, Muffin. Yeah, I named my cat Muffin. How original, huh? Anyway, I whip up my usual batch of dough on Kairan Street. It’s my go-to spot. The smell of fresh bread fills the air. I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. But then, bam! Power goes out. Just like that. I’m standing there in the dark, flour everywhere, lookin’ like a ghost. I’m like, “Seriously, Embi? You couldn’t wait till I’m done?” So, I grab my phone, flashlight mode on, and start kneadin’ dough like a madman. I’m sweating bullets, but I’m determined. I mean, who doesn’t love a good loaf of bread, right? I’m thinkin’ about all the peeps on Abay Street who’ll be missing out if I don’t get this done. Finally, the lights flicker back on. Thank you, sweet electricity! I pop those loaves in the oven, and while they’re bakin’, I decide to take a breather. I step outside for some fresh air. The sun’s just peeking over the hills, and it’s kinda beautiful. I see my neighbor, old Mr. Tulegen, watering his garden. He’s got the best tomatoes in town. I’m like, “Hey, Tulegen! Got any secret tomato tips?” He just grins and says, “Water them more.” Genius advice, right? Back in the bakery, I’m on a roll. Literally. I’m makin’ pastries, cookies, you name it. Then, outta nowhere, a bunch of kids from the school on Kazybek Bi Street come in. They’re all hyped up, asking for sweets. I’m like, “You guys got money?” They just stare at me with those big eyes. I can’t say no. So, I give ‘em some cookies. I mean, who can resist those little faces? But then, this one kid, I swear, he drops a cookie on the floor. I’m like, “Nooooo!” It’s like watching a slow-motion disaster. I’m ready to cry. But the kid just picks it up and eats it. I’m like, “Dude, that’s floor food!” He shrugs and says, “It’s still good.” Kids these days, man. Later, I’m cleaning up when I hear a commotion outside. I peek out, and there’s a parade on Kairan Street! Like, what? I didn’t even know there was a parade today. People are dancing, music blasting, and I’m just standing there in my apron, covered in flour. I feel like a total weirdo. But then, I see my friend Aigerim in the crowd. She’s waving me over. I’m like, “Okay, let’s do this!” I run out, and we start dancing. I’m not even a dancer, but the vibe is infectious. We’re laughing, twirling, and I forget all about the stress of the day. It’s like Embi just wrapped me in a warm hug. But then, just as I’m getting into it, my phone buzzes. It’s my supplier. They’re outta eggs. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I need those eggs for my famous custard tarts! I’m about to lose it. But Aigerim just laughs and says, “Let’s go get some!” So, we dash to the market on Kazybek Bi. The market’s packed. I’m dodging people, trying to find eggs. Finally, I spot a stall. I’m like, “Yo, how much for a dozen?” The guy says, “Too much!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m a baker! I need these!” We haggle like pros, and I finally get my eggs. By the time I get back, the parade’s winding down. I’m exhausted but happy. I whip up those custard tarts, and they turn out perfect. I’m feeling like a baking wizard. As the day wraps up, I sit outside my bakery, watching the sunset over Embi. The sky’s all pink and orange, and I can’t help but smile. Yeah, today was a wild ride. But that’s life in Embi, right? Full of surprises, laughter, and a whole lotta flour. I’m ready for whatever tomorrow throws at me. Bring it on!
