Man, what a day in Biržai! I swear, I thought I was just gonna chill, grab a coffee at that cute little café on Vytauto street, but nah, the universe had other plans. So, I roll outta bed, right? It’s like 8 AM, and I’m already late for my gig as The Herald. I mean, c’mon, who needs sleep? Not me, apparently. I rush to the café, and guess what? They’re outta my fave croissants. Like, seriously? Who runs outta croissants? I’m standing there, all grumpy, and the barista’s like, “Try the poppy seed roll.” Ugh, fine. I grab my coffee and head to the town square. It’s buzzing! People everywhere, kids running around, and the sun’s shining. I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe today won’t be so bad.” But then, I see this dude on the corner of J. Basanavičiaus street, yelling about something. Turns out, he’s ranting about the price of bread. Like, dude, chill! It’s just bread! But hey, I get it. Bread’s important. Then, I bump into my buddy, Tomas. He’s all hyped up about the new park they’re building near the Biržai Castle. I’m like, “Dude, that’s awesome!” But then he goes on about how they’re cutting down trees. I’m like, “Bro, can’t we just plant more trees?” But he’s all, “Nah, man, it’s not that simple.” Whatever, man. So, I’m walking down Maironio street, and I see this old lady selling flowers. Her smile is like sunshine, and I can’t help but buy a bunch. I mean, who doesn’t love flowers? But then, she tells me a story about how she used to sell flowers to soldiers back in the day. I’m like, “Wow, that’s deep.” But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring! I’m talking full-on rainstorm. I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into this little shop on S. Dariaus and S. Girėno street. It’s packed with all sorts of random stuff. I’m browsing, trying to dry off, when I spot this weird-looking statue. It’s a bird, but like, a really ugly one. I can’t help but laugh. Who buys that? After the rain, the streets are all shiny and fresh. I decide to head to the Biržai Brewery. I mean, it’s a must, right? I grab a pint, and it’s like heaven in a glass. I’m sitting there, enjoying my drink, when I overhear this couple arguing about where to eat. I’m like, “Dude, just go to the pizzeria on the corner!” But they’re all, “No, I want sushi!” In Biržai? Really? As the sun sets, I stroll by the lake. It’s beautiful, man. The reflection of the trees on the water is like something outta a postcard. I sit on a bench, just soaking it all in. But then, I see this kid trying to fish. He’s got this tiny rod, and he’s all serious about it. I can’t help but chuckle. Finally, I head home, exhausted but happy. Biržai, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. I mean, who knew a day could be so wild? From croissant drama to flower lady wisdom, it’s all part of the adventure. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
