Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a baker in Eiguliai is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up at the crack of dawn, right? Like, 4 AM. The sun ain’t even up yet, and I’m already knee-deep in flour. I live on Maironio street, and lemme tell ya, it’s a quiet spot. Too quiet sometimes. So, I’m mixing dough, and my mind’s racing. I’m thinkin’ about the fresh pastries I gotta whip up for the morning rush. You know, croissants, buns, the whole shebang. But then, BOOM! My mixer decides to throw a tantrum. Like, seriously? It’s 4 AM, and you wanna break down now? I’m cursing like a sailor, and my cat, Pudding, is just staring at me like I’m the crazy one. Finally, I get the dough sorted. I’m feeling good, right? I head out to the market on Vytauto street to grab some fresh berries. The market’s buzzing, people everywhere. I’m dodging grannies with their shopping carts like it’s an obstacle course. One lady almost took me out with her cart. I’m like, “Chill, lady! I’m just trying to get some blueberries!” So, I grab my berries and head back. But guess what? I forgot the sugar! Ugh! I’m sprinting back, and I swear, I’m about to have a heart attack. I finally get the sugar, and I’m back in the bakery, ready to make magic happen. I’m rolling out dough, and the smell is heavenly. I’m humming some random tune, probably something from the 90s. Then, my buddy Tomas from down the street pops in. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta try this new coffee place on J. Basanavičiaus street.” I’m like, “Tomas, I’m knee-deep in dough here!” But he insists, so I’m like, “Fine, but you owe me a pastry!” I take a quick break, and we head to this coffee joint. It’s packed! I mean, who knew Eiguliai had such a coffee scene? I grab a cappuccino, and it’s like a hug in a cup. I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. But then, I spill it all over my apron. Classic me, right? I’m laughing it off, but inside, I’m like, “Great, now I smell like a coffee shop exploded.” Back at the bakery, I’m on a roll. I’m making these killer berry tarts, and they’re looking gorgeous. I’m feeling like a pastry Picasso. But then, the oven starts acting up. It’s like, “Nah, I don’t feel like baking today.” I’m yelling at it, “C’mon, you piece of junk! I need you!” Finally, the tarts come out, and they’re perfect. I’m so proud, I could cry. I set them out, and people start coming in. The vibe is electric! I’m chatting with customers, cracking jokes, and feeling like a rockstar. Then, this little kid comes in, eyes wide as saucers, and he’s like, “Can I have a tart?” I’m like, “Of course, buddy! You can have two!” But then, outta nowhere, this guy barges in. He’s all angry, yelling about how I sold him a stale loaf last week. I’m like, “Dude, that was last week! Get over it!” But he’s not having it. I’m trying to keep my cool, but inside, I’m fuming. Like, who does he think he is? After that drama, I’m just done. I need a breather. I step outside, and the sun’s finally out. I take a deep breath, and it hits me. Eiguliai is beautiful. The streets, the people, the vibe. It’s chaotic, but it’s home. I head back in, and the day wraps up. I’m exhausted but happy. I close up shop, and as I’m locking the door, I see Pudding waiting for me. I scoop her up, and we head home. What a day, right? Just another wild ride in Eiguliai. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
