Man, what a day! I swear, being a vet in Kelme is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into the clinic on J. Basanavičiaus street, coffee in hand, ready to tackle whatever comes my way. Little did I know, it was gonna be a wild ride. First off, I get a call about a dog named Max. Poor dude got into some trash on Maironio street. I mean, who hasn’t? But this guy? He was a mess. I get there, and he’s just staring at me like, “Help me, human!” I’m like, “Dude, you brought this on yourself!” But I can’t be mad. He’s too cute. Then, outta nowhere, this lady storms in. She’s all frantic, waving her hands like she’s trying to fly. Turns out, her cat, Whiskers, decided to play hide and seek in a tree on Gedimino street. I’m thinking, “Really? A tree?” I mean, come on, Whiskers! You’re not a squirrel! So, I grab my gear and head out. I’m climbing this tree, and I’m like, “What am I doing with my life?” I’m a vet, not a tree climber! But there I am, trying to coax this fluffy diva down. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I get Whiskers. She’s not even grateful. Just gives me that “You better have treats” look. Ugh! After that, I’m back at the clinic, and my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, saying there’s a stray dog on Vytauto street. I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” But I can’t ignore a pup in need. So, I grab some snacks and head out. When I get there, this dog is the size of a small horse. I’m not even kidding! He’s just chilling, looking at me like, “You got food?” I’m like, “Yeah, buddy, but you gotta come with me.” He’s not having it. So, I pull out the big guns—treats. And boom! He’s mine. I name him “Giant” because, well, he’s huge. I take him back to the clinic, and my coworkers are like, “What the heck is that?” I’m like, “Just your average Tuesday in Kelme.” But then, the day takes a turn. I get a call about a puppy that’s been hit by a car on Kauno street. My heart drops. I rush over, and it’s chaos. The poor thing is whimpering, and I’m trying to keep it together. I’m like, “Stay with me, little buddy!” We get him to the clinic, and it’s a whirlwind of tests and treatments. I’m sweating bullets, praying he pulls through. Finally, after what feels like forever, he stabilizes. I’m so relieved, I could cry. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I sit down on the steps of the clinic, looking out at the sunset over Kelme. The sky is all pink and orange, and I think, “Man, this is why I do this.” Sure, it’s crazy. Sure, I’m tired. But these animals? They make it all worth it. I can’t imagine doing anything else. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild, emotional ride in Kelme. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
