Man, what a day! I swear, being a swineherd in Pabrade is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinking about my pigs. Yeah, my little oinkers. They’re my life, ya know? First thing, I head down to Vilniaus gatvė. It’s like the main drag here. You got your shops, your cafes, and all the usual hustle. But today? Today was different. I’m walking, minding my own business, when I see this dude trying to sell some weird street food. Like, who eats fried grasshoppers? Seriously? I’m all for trying new things, but c’mon! Anyway, I’m just about to pass him when BAM! One of my pigs, Mabel, decides she’s had enough of the pen and bolts right past me. I’m like, “Mabel, no!” But she’s off, running down the street like she’s in the Olympics. I’m chasing her, dodging people, and I swear, I almost tripped over a pothole on Gedimino gatvė. Finally, I catch up to her near the park. You know, that little green space by the river? It’s nice there, but I’m not in the mood for a picnic. I’m sweating like a pig (ironic, right?) and Mabel’s just standing there, looking at me like, “What’s the big deal?” So, I grab her and head back. But then, I see this old lady on the corner of Pabradės gatvė. She’s trying to cross, and I’m like, “Lady, you need a hand?” She looks at me, all serious, and says, “Only if you can carry my groceries.” I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m a swineherd, not a bodybuilder!” But I help her anyway. We chat a bit, and she tells me about the good ol’ days in Pabrade. Apparently, it used to be a big deal back in the day. Now? It’s just me and my pigs. But hey, I love it here. The people are chill, and the vibe is just... homey. After that, I finally get back to my pen. But guess what? Mabel’s not the only one who decided to escape. I’ve got a whole pig parade going on! I’m yelling, “Get back here!” while trying to wrangle them. It’s chaos, pure chaos. Then, outta nowhere, this kid shows up. He’s got a skateboard and a huge grin. “Dude, can I help?” I’m like, “Sure, but don’t get too close!” He starts herding the pigs with his board, and I’m just standing there, half-laughing, half-crying. Who knew skateboards could be a pig herding tool? Finally, we get them all back in. I’m exhausted, but I can’t help but feel this rush of happiness. I mean, how many people can say they had a pig chase in the middle of Pabrade? As the sun sets, I’m sitting on my porch, sipping some kvass, thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and totally unexpected. Pabrade, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. And that’s just another day in the life of a swineherd. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
