Man, what a day! I swear, Anenii-Noi really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a cooper, right? You know, the guy who makes barrels? Yeah, that’s me. But today? Today was a whole different story. I woke up, sun shining through my window on Strada Ștefan cel Mare. Thought it was gonna be chill. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I spilled coffee all over my favorite shirt. Like, c’mon! It’s a white shirt! Now it’s a brown mess. Great start, right? So, I head out to my workshop on Strada Mărășești. The streets were buzzing, as usual. Kids running around, old folks chatting, and the smell of fresh bread from the bakery. I love that smell. Makes me feel all warm inside. But then, I see this dude trying to parallel park his car. I mean, seriously? He’s taking forever! I’m standing there, watching him struggle like it’s a reality show. Finally, he hits the curb. Boom! I couldn’t help but laugh. Sorry, not sorry! Anyway, I get to my workshop, and it’s a mess. Tools everywhere, wood shavings all over the floor. I’m like, “What happened here?” Turns out, my buddy Ion was “helping” me out. Helped himself to my lunch too. I was so mad! I mean, who eats my last piece of mamaliga? That’s just rude, man! So, I start working on this barrel. It’s for some fancy wine. You know, the kind that costs more than my rent. I’m hammering away, and then—bam! I hit my thumb. Ouch! I let out a scream that probably scared the pigeons outside. I’m hopping around like a fool, cursing under my breath. “Why, Anenii-Noi, why?” But then, something cool happened. My neighbor, Maria, came by with some fresh plums. She’s the sweetest! I mean, who brings plums when you’re having a rough day? I took a bite, and it was like heaven. Sweet, juicy goodness. Made me forget about my thumb for a sec. After that, I decided to take a break. Walked down to the park near Strada Călărași. It’s a nice spot, you know? Kids playing, couples walking hand in hand. I sat on a bench, just chillin’. Then, I saw this old man feeding the ducks. He was so into it, talking to them like they were his best friends. I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Hey, buddy, they don’t understand you!” But then, I got a bit emotional. Life’s funny like that. Here’s this guy, just enjoying the simple things. Made me think about how we get caught up in our own mess. Like, who cares about the spilled coffee or the messed-up shirt? So, I head back to my workshop, feeling a bit lighter. I finish the barrel, and it actually looks good! I’m proud of it. I mean, it’s not every day you make something that’ll hold fancy wine. I can just imagine the people sipping from it, laughing, having a good time. As the sun sets over Anenii-Noi, I pack up my tools. I walk home, taking in the sights. The streets are lit up, and there’s this vibe in the air. People laughing, music playing from somewhere. I love this city. It’s quirky, it’s messy, but it’s home. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Anenii-Noi, you crazy, but I love ya!
