Man, what a day! I swear, being a vet in Balti is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into the clinic on Strada Mihai Eminescu, coffee in hand, ready to tackle whatever comes my way. Little did I know, today was gonna be a wild ride. First off, I get a call about a dog named Max. Poor dude got into some trouble with a porcupine. Yeah, you heard that right. A freakin’ porcupine! I mean, who lets their dog roam around near the park on Strada 31 August? Anyway, I rush over, and there’s Max, looking like a pin cushion. I’m trying to be all professional, but inside, I’m cracking up. Like, dude, what were you thinking? So, I start pulling out quills, and let me tell ya, it’s not pretty. Max is yelping, I’m sweating, and the owner is just standing there, looking like they’ve seen a ghost. I’m like, “Hey, it’s not my fault your dog’s a moron!” But I keep it cool, ya know? Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I get all the quills out. Max is wagging his tail like nothing happened. Dogs, man. They’re just too much sometimes. Next, I get a call about a cat stuck in a tree. Classic Balti, right? I mean, it’s not like we have enough stray cats roaming around. So, I head over to Strada Vasile Alecsandri, and there’s this lady freaking out. Her cat, Whiskers, is up there, looking down like he’s the king of the world. I’m like, “Lady, it’s a cat. They climb down eventually.” But no, she’s convinced I’m the cat whisperer or something. I grab a ladder, and as I’m climbing, I’m thinking, “What am I doing with my life?” I mean, I went to school for this? Anyway, I finally reach Whiskers, and he just looks at me like, “Really? You came all the way up here for me?” I grab him, and he’s all chill, like he wasn’t just causing a scene. I hand him back to the lady, and she’s crying. I’m like, “It’s just a cat, lady!” But hey, whatever makes her happy, right? Then, I get a call about a parrot that’s gone rogue. Yup, a parrot. In Balti. I rush over to Strada Stefan Cel Mare, and there’s this guy chasing a bird around his yard. I’m laughing so hard, I can barely breathe. I mean, who knew parrots could be so dramatic? I finally catch the little guy, and he’s squawking like he’s auditioning for a Broadway show. By now, I’m exhausted. I grab a quick bite at a local spot on Strada Independentei. Best shawarma ever, by the way. I’m sitting there, thinking about how crazy my day has been. I mean, porcupines, cats, and now a parrot? What’s next? A goat on a roof? As I’m munching, I get a call about a rabbit that needs a check-up. Seriously? A rabbit? I’m like, “Can’t a vet catch a break?” But I head over to Strada Calea Bălțiului, and there’s this cute little bunny just chilling. I do the check-up, and it’s all good. But the owner? They’re acting like I just performed surgery on a human. I’m like, “It’s a bunny, not a rocket scientist!” Finally, I wrap up my day, and I’m driving home, thinking about all the craziness. Balti is wild, man. One minute you’re pulling quills out of a dog, and the next, you’re rescuing a cat from a tree. I love this city, though. The people, the streets, the unexpected adventures. It’s chaotic, but it’s home. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another Tuesday in Balti. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
