Man, what a day! I woke up in Bender, MD, and thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local coffee shop on 31 August Street. You know, the one with the weird art on the walls? Yeah, that place. I ordered my usual—double shot of espresso. The barista, bless her heart, was having a rough morning. She spilled half my drink. I was like, “Great, just what I needed!” But hey, I’m not one to complain. I just laughed it off. So, I’m walking down the street, and I see this cute little park near the Dniester River. I thought, “Let’s take a breather.” I plopped down on a bench, and guess what? A squirrel decided to join me. I swear, this little dude was eyeing my bag like it was a five-star meal. I was like, “Chill, bro, I ain’t sharing.” But then he did this cute little dance, and I was like, “Okay, fine, you win.” I tossed him a crumb. Then, outta nowhere, it started pouring. I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. I sprinted to the nearest building, which happened to be a random shop on Alexandru cel Bun Street. I ducked inside, soaked to the bone. The shopkeeper looked at me like I was a wet dog. I just laughed and said, “Nice weather, huh?” He didn’t laugh back. Awkward. After the rain, I decided to check out the local market. You know, the one by the Central Park? It’s always buzzing with life. I was feeling adventurous, so I tried some local food. Big mistake. I bit into this thing called “mămăligă,” and it was like a flavor explosion. I was like, “Whoa, this is amazing!” But then my stomach was like, “What have you done?” I rushed to find a restroom. I was darting through the market, dodging people like I was in an obstacle course. Finally found one, and let me tell you, it was a close call. I made it just in time. Phew! After that, I needed a pick-me-up. I hit up a bakery on Vasile Alecsandri Street. The smell of fresh pastries was heavenly. I grabbed a “cozonac” and devoured it like I hadn’t eaten in days. It was so good, I almost cried. Seriously, I was tearing up. Then, I decided to stroll along the Dniester River. The sunset was gorgeous, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. I felt all philosophical, like, “Life is beautiful, man.” But then I tripped over a rock and almost face-planted. Classic me, right? As I was walking back, I bumped into an old friend. We hadn’t seen each other in ages. We started reminiscing about our high school days at the “Liceul Teoretic Bender.” Man, those were some wild times. We laughed so hard, I almost forgot about the crazy day I had. But then, out of nowhere, my phone buzzed. It was work. Ugh. They needed a last-minute report. I was like, “Seriously? Right now?” I had to rush home, type it up, and send it. Talk about a buzzkill. Finally, I collapsed on my couch, exhausted but happy. Bender, MD, you crazy little city, you never fail to surprise me. I love your quirks, your people, and even your weird weather. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
