Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a jockey in Orhei is like riding a rollercoaster, but without the safety bar. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Strada Mihai Eminescu. I’m like, “Great, another scorcher.” But hey, I’m a jockey, I can handle it. First thing, I hit up the local café on Strada Vasile Alecsandri. Best coffee in town, no cap. I grab my usual – a double espresso. I’m chugging it down, and boom! My phone buzzes. It’s my trainer, all frantic. “Get to the track, NOW!” I’m like, “Chill, dude, I’m on it!” So, I hop on my bike, zooming through the streets. Orhei’s got this vibe, ya know? Old buildings mixed with new stuff. I pass by the Orheiul Vechi, and I’m like, “Man, I should really check that out one day.” But not today. Today’s about the race. I get to the track, and it’s chaos. Horses everywhere, people yelling. I’m feelin’ the adrenaline. My horse, Thunderbolt, is acting like a diva. Seriously, this horse thinks he’s a superstar. I’m tryin’ to calm him down, but he’s just prancing around like he owns the place. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Alex shows up. He’s all hyped, “Dude, you ready to win?” I’m like, “Ready as I’ll ever be!” But inside, I’m freakin’ out. The pressure is real. Race time rolls around. I’m on Thunderbolt, and we’re lined up. The crowd’s goin’ wild. I can hear them shoutin’ my name. It’s like a movie, man! The gates open, and we’re off! We’re flying down the track, and I’m feelin’ like a champ. But then, I see this dude on my left, trying to cut me off. I’m like, “Not today, buddy!” I whip Thunderbolt to the right, and we’re neck and neck. Halfway through, I’m thinkin’ we got this. But then, Thunderbolt stumbles! My heart drops. I’m like, “No, no, no!” I’m yelling at him, “Get it together!” And somehow, he pulls through. We’re back in the race. Crossing the finish line, I can’t believe it. We did it! I’m screaming, the crowd’s going nuts. I jump off Thunderbolt, and it’s like I’m on cloud nine. But then, I see that jerk who tried to cut me off. He’s sulking in the corner. I can’t help but laugh. After the race, I’m riding high. I hit up the local bar on Strada 31 August. Gotta celebrate, right? I grab a drink, and Alex joins me. We’re toasting to victory, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes again. It’s my mom. “Did you win?” I’m like, “Yeah, Mom! I’m a champ!” She’s all proud, and I’m just grinning like an idiot. As the night goes on, I’m reflecting on the day. Orhei’s got this charm, man. The streets, the people, the energy. It’s wild. I’m grateful for it all. But then, I remember I gotta get up early tomorrow. Another race, another day. I’m like, “Bring it on!” So, that was my day in Orhei. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Can’t wait to do it all again!
