Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a carpenter in Vulcanesti is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Strada Mărășești. I’m like, “Great, another scorcher.” But hey, I’m a carpenter, I can handle it. First job of the day was at this old house on Strada Ștefan cel Mare. You know, the one that looks like it’s been through a war? Yeah, that one. I get there, and the owner, this sweet old lady, is like, “Can you fix my porch?” I’m thinkin’, “Sure, lady, but it’s gonna cost ya.” I mean, wood ain’t cheap, ya know? So I’m hammerin’ away, and outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms by and yells, “Hey, mister! You buildin’ a rocket?” I almost dropped my hammer! I’m like, “Nah, kid, just tryin’ to keep this porch from fallin’ apart.” But it made me smile. Kids, man, they see the world differently. Then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Ion. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the market on Strada Independenței. They got fresh plăcinte!” Now, if you’ve never had plăcinte in Vulcanesti, you’re missin’ out. So I’m like, “Alright, I’ll take a break.” I head over, and the market is packed. People everywhere, haggling, laughin’, just livin’ life. I grab a couple of those plăcinte, and man, they’re still warm. I take a bite, and it’s like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I’m in heaven! But then, I see this guy tryin’ to sell some weird-looking vegetables. I’m like, “Dude, what even is that?” He’s all proud, sayin’ it’s some rare breed. I’m thinkin’, “Yeah, right. Good luck with that, buddy.” After my snack, I head back to the job. But guess what? The old lady’s gone! Just poof! I’m standin’ there like an idiot, tools in hand, and no one to pay me. I’m like, “Great, just great.” So I sit on the porch, tryin’ to figure out what to do next. Then, outta nowhere, this storm rolls in. Dark clouds, wind pickin’ up. I’m thinkin’, “Oh man, not today!” I pack up my stuff, but the wind’s like, “Nah, not so fast!” It knocks over my toolbox. I’m cussin’ like a sailor. I mean, come on! Finally, I get everything packed, and I’m sprintin’ down Strada Mărășești, tryin’ to beat the rain. I’m soaked by the time I reach my car. But hey, at least I got my plăcinte, right? I drive home, and I’m just laughin’ at the craziness of the day. Vulcanesti, man, it’s wild. You never know what’s gonna happen. I pull into my driveway, and my neighbor’s out there, fixin’ his fence. I’m like, “Hey, you need a hand?” He looks at me, all serious, and says, “Nah, I’m good. Just tryin’ to keep the goats in.” Goats? Seriously? I can’t even. But that’s Vulcanesti for ya. Full of surprises. I get inside, kick off my boots, and plop down on the couch. I’m exhausted but happy. So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Vulcanesti. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
