Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m a furrier, right? Yeah, I know, sounds fancy, but it’s just me and my sewing machine, chillin’ in Arcen. This little town is like a hidden gem, you know? It’s got that small-town vibe, but with a twist. So, I wake up, and it’s raining. Typical Dutch weather, am I right? I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” I grab my coffee from that cute little café on Kerkstraat. You know the one? The barista there is always super chipper, even when it’s pouring outside. I swear, she must be on some kind of caffeine high. Anyway, I’m sipping my coffee, and I’m thinking about my day ahead. I had a client coming in. This lady, let’s call her “Fur Mama.” She’s obsessed with her fur coat. I mean, who isn’t? But she’s also a bit...extra. She wanted me to add some bling to it. Like, girl, it’s a fur coat, not a disco ball! But whatever, I’m a professional, right? So, I’m working on this coat, and I’m halfway through when my phone buzzes. It’s Fur Mama. She’s stuck in traffic on de Maasstraat. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a coat!” But I get it, she’s gotta look fab. I’m just trying to keep my cool. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Joris swings by. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he tells me about this giant fish he caught at the Maas. I’m like, “Dude, you sure it wasn’t just a boot?” We laugh, but then he pulls out this photo. And I’m like, “Whoa, that’s a fish!” I mean, it’s massive! So, I’m back to work, and Fur Mama finally shows up. She’s late, of course. And she’s wearing this ridiculous hat. I can’t even. I’m trying to keep a straight face, but it’s hard. She’s all, “What do you think?” And I’m like, “Um, it’s...unique?” We start going over the coat, and she’s pointing out every little detail. “Make it shinier!” “Add more fur!” I’m losing it. I’m like, “Lady, it’s not a Christmas tree!” But I just nod and smile. Then, she drops the bomb. “I need it for a gala tonight.” I’m like, “Tonight?!” It’s already noon! I’m sweating bullets. I’m racing against time now. I’m stitching like a madman, and Fur Mama is pacing around my shop. Finally, I finish. I hold it up, and it looks amazing. I mean, I’m not gonna lie, I nailed it. She gasps, and I’m like, “Yes! Finally!” But then she says, “Can you add a feather boa?” I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” But I can’t say no. So, I’m scrambling to find feathers. I run down to the market on de Kerkstraat. It’s bustling, people everywhere. I’m dodging old ladies and kids. I finally find a stall with feathers, and I’m like, “Gimme all the boas!” The vendor looks at me like I’m nuts, but whatever. I rush back, and I’m hot gluing feathers onto this coat. It’s a mess, but I’m in the zone. Fur Mama is watching, and I can see her excitement. It’s contagious. I’m feeling good, despite the chaos. Finally, I hand it over. She’s ecstatic! I mean, she’s practically dancing. I’m like, “Okay, girl, calm down!” But it’s nice to see her happy. She struts out of my shop like she owns the place. And then, just when I think I can breathe, my phone buzzes again. It’s Joris. He’s got another fish story. I roll my eyes but can’t help but laugh. So, that was my day in Arcen. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right? I love this town, even with its quirks. It’s small, but it’s got heart. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
