Man, what a day! I swear, Bergen (NL) is a wild ride. I woke up, coffee in hand, ready to tackle the world. Little did I know, today was gonna be a rollercoaster. First off, I had to install some radio gear at this place on Hoofdstraat. Sounds simple, right? Nah, not in Bergen. I get there, and the client is like, “Hey, can you do it in the attic?” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” But the attic? It’s like a sauna up there! I’m sweating buckets, and I’m pretty sure I saw a family of spiders eyeing me. Ugh. So, I’m up there, trying to connect wires, and my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, asking if I wanna grab a beer later. I’m like, “Dude, I’m stuck in spider hell!” But then I think, “A cold one after this? Heck yes!” Anyway, I finally get the radio set up. It’s working, and I’m feeling like a champ. But then, the client’s dog decides it’s playtime. This little furball starts tugging at my tool belt. I’m like, “Bro, I’m not your chew toy!” But he’s relentless. I’m laughing, but also kinda annoyed. After that, I head down to the Marktstraat for lunch. I’m starving! I hit up this little café, and they’ve got the best broodje ever. I mean, I could live off that thing. But then, the waiter spills coffee all over my shirt. I’m like, “Really, man?!” Now I look like a walking disaster. I clean up, and I’m off to my next job on Kerkstraat. It’s a small shop, and the owner is super chill. He’s got this old-school radio that he wants fixed. I’m all about vintage stuff, so I’m pumped. But then, I open it up, and it’s a mess. Wires everywhere! I’m thinking, “Who did this? A raccoon?” I’m elbow-deep in this thing when the owner starts telling me about Bergen’s history. Did you know it used to be a fishing village? Crazy, right? I’m trying to focus on the radio, but he’s got me hooked on stories about the old days. I’m laughing, and he’s all animated. It’s a good vibe. Finally, I fix the radio, and it sounds amazing! The owner is stoked, and I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, I step outside, and it starts pouring. Of course! Typical Bergen weather. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m cursing under my breath, but then I see this cute café on the corner of Vissersstraat. I duck in to escape the rain. Inside, it’s cozy, and they’ve got the best hot chocolate. I order one, and while I’m waiting, I overhear some locals talking about the best spots in Bergen. They mention the old church on the edge of town. I’ve never been! I’m thinking, “I gotta check that out.” After the rain lets up, I head home, but not before stopping by the local market. I grab some fresh fish and veggies. Gotta eat healthy, right? But then, I see this street performer playing the accordion. He’s got a crowd, and I can’t help but stop. The dude’s got skills! I’m clapping along, and for a moment, all the craziness of the day fades away. Finally, I get home, exhausted but happy. I kick off my shoes, plop on the couch, and think about the day. Bergen’s got its quirks, but man, I love this place. It’s full of surprises, and every day is an adventure. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
