Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Boxtel, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m cruising down the Molenstraat, thinking about grabbing a coffee at my fave spot, Café de Koffiemolen. But guess what? It’s closed! Like, what even? I’m standing there like a lost puppy. I mean, who closes a coffee shop on a Tuesday? Ugh! So, I decide to hit up the market on the Markt. You know, the one with all the fresh veggies and flowers? I’m strolling, feeling good, when I bump into my old buddy, Jan. We start chatting, and he’s telling me about his new job at the local brewery. I’m like, “Dude, that’s awesome!” But then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and poops right on my shoulder. Like, really? Thanks, nature. I’m trying to brush it off, but Jan’s cracking up. I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, buddy.” But honestly, I couldn’t help but laugh too. It’s just one of those days, ya know? After that, I head over to the Sint-Lambertuskerk. I love that place. It’s so peaceful. I’m just standing there, taking it all in, when I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some kid on a bike just wiped out on the cobblestones. I rush over, half worried, half trying not to laugh. He’s fine, just a bit bruised and embarrassed. I tell him, “Hey, man, you gotta watch out for those cobbles!” He just grins and says, “I’ll stick to the grass next time.” Classic! Then, I get a call from my boss. He’s like, “We need to talk about the project.” I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” So, I’m walking down the Heuvelstraat, trying to find a quiet spot. But it’s Boxtel, and it’s busy. I can’t find a place to breathe. I finally duck into this little park by the water. It’s so pretty there, but I’m stressed. My boss starts going on about deadlines and budgets. I’m like, “Dude, chill. We’ll get it done.” But he’s all worked up. I’m trying to keep my cool, but inside, I’m like, “Why do I even do this?” After that convo, I’m feeling all kinds of frustrated. I need a break. So, I head to the local bakery on the Spoorlaan. You know the one with the best apple pie? I grab a slice, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. Seriously, I could marry that pie. Feeling a bit better, I decide to take a walk by the Dommel river. It’s so calming. I see families picnicking, kids playing, and I’m just soaking it all in. Then, I spot this cute dog chasing a ball. I’m like, “Aww, I need a dog.” But then I remember, I can barely take care of myself. As I’m walking, I bump into this street performer. He’s playing the guitar and singing some catchy tune. I stop to listen, and it’s actually really good. I throw him a couple of euros, and he gives me a nod. It’s those little moments that make you smile, ya know? But then, just when I think the day’s turning around, I get a text from my coworker. “We have a meeting at 5.” I look at my watch. It’s 4:30! I’m like, “No way!” I sprint back to the office, dodging people like I’m in some kind of obstacle course. Finally, I make it just in time, panting like a dog. My team’s already there, and they’re all looking at me like, “Where were you?” I just laugh it off, but inside, I’m still a bit frazzled. The meeting goes on forever. We’re talking numbers, strategies, and I’m zoning out. I can’t help but think about that pie. I mean, priorities, right? By the time I get home, I’m exhausted. I flop on the couch, and all I can think is, “What a day!” Boxtel, you’ve got your ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another wild ride in this little town.
