Man, what a day! Seriously, Coevering is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, and my phone’s blowin’ up. My buddy Joris texts me, “Dude, meet me at De Korenmolen!” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” I grab my tools, head out, and boom! It’s raining cats and dogs. Typical Dutch weather, right? I’m trudging down the Hoofdstraat, dodging puddles like I’m in some kinda obstacle course. I swear, I almost slipped on a banana peel. No joke! Anyway, I finally get to De Korenmolen, and Joris is already there, sippin’ on some fancy coffee. I’m like, “Bro, you couldn’t wait for me?” He just laughs. We start talkin’ about art, life, and all that jazz. Coevering’s got this vibe, man. The streets are lined with these cute little houses, and the canals? Don’t even get me started. I love how the water reflects the sky. It’s like a painting, but then I remember I’m an artisan, not a poet. Suddenly, this old lady walks by, and she’s got this massive bag of bread. I mean, it’s like she’s hoarding for a zombie apocalypse or something. Joris and I can’t help but crack up. I’m like, “Lady, you planning to feed the whole town?” She just glares at us. Classic! Then, outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms past, and I swear he almost takes out a lamp post. I’m like, “Dude, slow down! You’re not in the Tour de France!” But he just laughs and keeps going. Kids these days, right? After a while, we decide to hit up the market on the Markt. Man, the vibe there is electric! Fresh veggies, flowers, and all sorts of goodies. I grab some stroopwafels—best decision ever! I mean, who can resist those? Joris is all about the cheese, of course. Typical Dutch guy. But then, I see this guy trying to haggle with a vendor. He’s like, “I’ll give you two euros for that!” The vendor just stares at him like he’s lost his mind. I’m dying laughing. Like, dude, it’s not a garage sale! So, we’re munching on our snacks, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, I get a call from my workshop. My latest piece? Yeah, it got damaged. I’m fuming! I mean, I put my heart into that thing. I could’ve cried. But instead, I just vent to Joris. He’s like, “Let’s go fix it!” We head back to my place on the Kerkstraat, and I’m trying to salvage what I can. It’s a mess, but I’m determined. Joris is cracking jokes, trying to lighten the mood. “You’re like a mad scientist!” he says. I’m like, “Yeah, but without the cool lab coat!” Finally, after hours of work, I manage to fix it. I’m so relieved! I feel like I just won the lottery or something. Joris and I celebrate with a couple of beers. We’re toasting to Coevering, to art, and to crazy days like this. As the sun sets, the sky turns this beautiful orange. I step outside, and it hits me—this city, man. It’s got its quirks, its chaos, but it’s home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day in Coevering. Full of ups and downs, laughs, and a bit of drama. Just another day in the life of an artisan, I guess!
