Man, what a day! I swear, De-Westereen is a wild ride. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring day installing radio gear. Boy, was I wrong! First off, I hit the road on the N381, cruising past those cute little houses on de Hoofdstraat. You know, the ones with the flower boxes? Yeah, those. I was vibin’ to some tunes, feeling good. But then, BAM! Traffic jam outta nowhere. Like, seriously? It’s a Tuesday! So, I’m stuck, right? I’m fuming. I mean, c’mon! I got a job to do! Finally, I get to the site on de Witteweg. It’s a small café, super cozy. I’m thinking, “Great, I’ll be in and out.” But nope! The owner, this old dude named Jan, is like, “Can you fix my Wi-Fi? It’s been down for days!” I’m like, “Sure, Jan, but I’m here for the radio stuff.” He gives me that look, you know? The “I don’t care, fix it!” look. So, I dive into the Wi-Fi mess. Turns out, it’s just a loose cable. I’m sweating bullets, though. I mean, I’m an installer, not a magician! Finally, I get it sorted. Jan’s all smiles, offering me a coffee. I’m like, “Dude, I just saved your business!” But hey, free coffee? I’m not complaining. I take a sip, and it’s the best coffee I’ve had in ages. I’m thinking, “Maybe De-Westereen ain’t so bad after all.” Next stop, de Schoolstraat. I’m installing some radio gear for a local school. Kids everywhere, running around like they own the place. I’m trying to focus, but they keep asking me questions. “Mister, what’s that?” “Can you make it play music?” I’m like, “Chill, kids! It’s not a jukebox!” But then, one kid, little Timmy, he’s got this huge smile. He says, “Can you make it play my favorite song?” I’m like, “Sure, buddy!” So, I hook it up and blast some tunes. The kids go wild! I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, outta nowhere, the principal walks in. She’s not happy. “What’s going on here?” I’m thinking, “Uh-oh, I’m in trouble.” But Timmy, bless his heart, says, “Mister made it play music!” She softens up, and I’m off the hook. Phew! After that, I head to de Kerkstraat. I’m exhausted, but I gotta keep going. I’m installing a radio system for this local band. They’re all hyped up, talking about their big gig. I’m like, “Cool, but can we focus on the gear?” They start jamming while I work. It’s loud, but I’m loving it. I’m thinking, “This is what it’s all about!” But then, one of the guitarists trips over a cable. I’m like, “Dude, watch it!” He laughs it off, but I’m just glad nothing broke. Finally, I wrap up the day. I’m walking back to my van, and I see the sunset over the canal. It’s beautiful, man. I take a moment to breathe it all in. De-Westereen, with its quirky streets and friendly folks, it’s got a charm. I hop in my van, tired but happy. I think about all the craziness. From traffic jams to kids dancing, it’s been a rollercoaster. I can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow. De-Westereen, you’ve got my heart!
