Man, what a day! Seriously, Doetinchem, you wild city! I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another day in the Netherlands, right? But nah, life had other plans. So, I hit the streets around 9 AM. First stop? The market on the Markt. You know, that square with the big church? St. Catharina, or whatever. I’m just tryna grab some fresh stroopwafels, but the line was like a mile long. I mean, c’mon people, it’s just syrup and waffles! But hey, I’m patient. Kinda. Finally got my hands on those bad boys. Best decision ever! I’m munching away, feeling like a king, when I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some dude on a bike just wiped out on the corner of De Huet. Like, bro, you good? He just laughs it off, but I’m like, “Dude, you just made my day!” Then I stroll down to the old city walls. You know, the ones from the 14th century? Super cool! I’m snapping pics, feeling all artsy, when I spot this cute café on the corner of Korte Kade. I’m like, “Why not?” So I grab a coffee. But here’s where it gets weird. I sit down, and this old lady next to me starts talking about her cat. I mean, I love cats, but she was going on and on. “Fluffy this, Fluffy that.” I’m just nodding, trying to sip my coffee without laughing. After that, I decide to hit up the park, you know, the one by the river? I’m walking along the water, feeling all zen, when I see a bunch of kids playing football. They’re kicking it around like they’re in the World Cup or something. I’m cheering them on, feeling like a proud parent. But then, outta nowhere, one of them kicks the ball straight into the water. I’m like, “Oh no, not the ball!” They all freak out, and I’m just standing there, laughing my head off. Kids, man. So, I’m walking back, and I pass by the old cinema on the Langestraat. I used to go there all the time. Nostalgia hits me hard. I remember sneaking in snacks and getting caught. Good times! But then, I see a sign for a new movie. “Premiere tonight!” I’m like, “Heck yeah, I’m in!” So I buy a ticket, but then I realize I forgot my wallet at home. Ugh! I’m so mad at myself. I rush back, grab my wallet, and head to the cinema. The place is packed! I squeeze in, popcorn in hand, ready for the show. But then, the movie starts, and it’s in Dutch. I’m like, “Wait, what?!” I can’t understand a word! But you know what? I just roll with it. I’m laughing at the funny faces and dramatic music. Who needs subtitles, right? After the movie, I’m walking home, and I can’t help but think about my day. Doetinchem, you crazy little town. You made me laugh, you made me mad, and you even made me feel a bit nostalgic. I get home, plop on the couch, and just think, “What a ride.” I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s to more days like this!
