Man, what a day! I’m a shepherd, right? So, I’m used to chillin’ with my sheep, not runnin’ around Dokkum like a headless chicken. But today? Pffft, lemme tell ya! So, I wake up early, like, way too early. The sun’s barely peekin’ over the rooftops. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be a breeze.” Ha! Little did I know. I grab my coffee from the local café on de Dijk. Best coffee in town, no joke. I’m sippin’ it, feelin’ all fancy, when I hear this loud honkin’. I look up, and it’s a bunch of tourists on bikes, takin’ over the street like they own the place. I’m like, “Yo, this ain’t Amsterdam!” Anyway, I finish my coffee and head to the market at the Markt. It’s bustling, people everywhere. I’m tryin’ to sell some wool, right? But these folks are more interested in the cheese stalls. I mean, I get it, Dutch cheese is bomb, but c’mon! My wool’s got character! Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, trippin’ over my sheep’s tail. I’m like, “Dude, watch it!” He just laughs and keeps goin’. I’m standin’ there, half annoyed, half amused. Kids, man. They’re wild. So, I’m tryin’ to get my wool noticed, right? I’m shoutin’, “Fresh wool! Soft as a cloud!” But no one’s listenin’. Then, I spot this old lady on the Hoofdstraat. She’s got this huge hat, like, it’s a whole mood. I’m thinkin’, “If I had that hat, I’d sell wool like hotcakes!” Suddenly, I hear this commotion. Turns out, a goat escaped from a nearby farm. It’s runnin’ around like it’s in a race. I’m chasin’ it down the street, dodgin’ people and bikes. I’m yellin’, “Get back here, you little rascal!” It’s like a scene from a movie. People are laughin’, takin’ videos. I’m like, “Great, I’m gonna be a meme now.” Finally, I catch the goat near the old windmill. That thing is iconic, man! I’m pantin’, but I feel like a hero. I bring it back, and the farmer’s all grateful. He offers me some cheese as a thank you. I’m like, “Sure, I’ll take it!” After that chaos, I’m feelin’ kinda good. I head to the harbor, just to chill. The view is sick! Boats bobbin’ in the water, the sun glintin’ off the canals. I sit on a bench, eatin’ my cheese, thinkin’ about life. Dokkum’s got this vibe, ya know? It’s small but full of surprises. But then, I see this guy tryin’ to fish. He’s got all the gear, lookin’ serious. But he’s not catchin’ anything. I’m chucklin’ to myself, thinkin’, “Dude, you’re in Dokkum, not the North Sea!” As the day winds down, I head back to my sheep. They’re all chillin’, lookin’ at me like, “Where ya been?” I tell ‘em about my day, and they just stare. Typical sheep, right? So, yeah, Dokkum was wild today. I laughed, I chased goats, I almost became a meme. But at the end of the day, it’s just me and my sheep. And honestly? That’s all I need.
