Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Dordrecht, right? The sun was shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the streets. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna stroll down the beautiful Voorstraat? It’s like a postcard, all those cute shops and cafes. I was vibin’ until I tripped over some cobblestones. Like, come on! Who designed this place? I swear, I almost face-planted. Anyway, I shook it off and headed to the market at the Grote Markt. OMG, the cheese! I’m a sucker for cheese. Gouda, Edam, you name it. I was in heaven. But then, this lady bumped into me. Like, really? I was just trying to enjoy my cheese! I shot her a look, and she just smiled. Ugh, people are so weird sometimes. So, I grabbed a hunk of cheese and decided to chill by the water. The view of the river Merwede is just stunning. I mean, it’s like a painting. But then, outta nowhere, this kid starts flying a kite. And I’m like, “Dude, chill! You’re gonna take someone’s eye out!” But he was having the time of his life. I guess I can’t blame him. Then, I thought, “Let’s check out the old city center.” I wandered down the Wijnstraat, and wow, the buildings are so old! Like, they’ve seen some stuff. I felt like I was in a time machine. But then, I got lost. Like, how do you even get lost in a small city? I ended up near the Dordrecht Museum. I was like, “Is this a sign? Should I go in?” But nah, I just took a selfie outside. Classic tourist move, right? After that, I was starving. I found this little café on the Groenmarkt. The food was bomb! I ordered a broodje kroket. If you haven’t had one, you’re missing out. But then, the waiter spilled water all over my lap. I was like, “Dude, really?” But he just laughed it off. I mean, I guess it was funny. I was soaked, but whatever. Then, I decided to take a boat tour. I thought, “This’ll be relaxing.” Wrong! The boat was packed with tourists. Everyone was talking, laughing, and I just wanted some peace. But then, the guide started telling stories about the city’s history. I was actually into it. Dordrecht has some wild history! Did you know it was one of the oldest cities in Holland? Crazy, right? But then, the boat hit a wave, and I almost lost my lunch. I was like, “Nope, not today!” I held on for dear life. Finally, we docked, and I was relieved. I needed a drink after that. So, I hit up a bar on the Vriesestraat. I ordered a beer and just sat there, reflecting on my day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. I was angry, happy, surprised, and soaked. Dordrecht, you’ve got my heart, but you also made me wanna scream sometimes! As the sun set, I walked back to my place. The lights were twinkling, and the city felt alive. I thought, “Maybe this day wasn’t so bad after all.” Dordrecht, you’re a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
