Man, what a day! I woke up in Druten, and I swear, I thought it was just gonna be another chill day. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I’m a N (whatever that means, right?), and I was just trying to get my coffee fix at the local café on de Molenstraat. You know, the one with the weirdly shaped pastries? Yeah, that one. So, I’m standing there, half-asleep, and this dude in front of me orders, like, ten different things. I’m like, bro, it’s a coffee shop, not a bakery buffet! I’m getting impatient, tapping my foot, and the barista, bless her heart, is just trying to keep it together. Finally, I get my cappuccino, and it’s, like, the best thing ever. I mean, who knew foam could be so magical? Then I head over to the park, you know, the one by de Wetering? It’s usually pretty chill, but today? Nah. There’s this group of kids playing soccer, and they’re all over the place. I’m just trying to enjoy my coffee, and suddenly, BOOM! A ball comes flying at me. I duck just in time, but my coffee? Spilled everywhere. I was so mad! Like, come on, kids! Aim better! But then, this little girl runs over, all wide-eyed and apologetic. She’s like, “I’m so sorry, mister!” And I can’t help but smile. Kids have that magic, you know? So, I’m like, “It’s cool, kiddo. Just don’t aim for my face next time!” After that, I decide to stroll down the Hoofdstraat. It’s always buzzing with life. Shops, people, and the smell of fresh bread from the bakery. I stop by this little thrift shop. You know, the one with the funky clothes? I find this ridiculous jacket that looks like it’s from the ‘80s. I mean, who even wears that? But I try it on, and I’m like, “Dude, I’m a fashion icon now!” Then, outta nowhere, I bump into my old buddy, Jeroen. We haven’t seen each other in ages! We start reminiscing about the good ol’ days, you know, hanging out by the Maas river, causing trouble. He tells me he’s moving to Nijmegen. I’m like, “What? You can’t leave me here in Druten!” But he’s all excited about the new adventure. I get it, but still, it stings a bit. So, we grab some fries at that place on de Kerkstraat. You know, the one with the crazy sauces? I go for the satay sauce, and it’s fire! We’re laughing, talking about life, and I forget all about the coffee disaster. But then, as I’m walking home, I see this massive traffic jam on de Wetering. Cars honking, people yelling. I’m like, “What’s going on?” Turns out, there’s a parade or something. I didn’t even know! So, I stick around, and it’s wild! People dressed up, music blasting, and I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. I mean, Druten can be a sleepy little town, but today? It was alive! I felt this rush of happiness. I even joined in the fun, dancing like a fool. Who cares, right? Finally, I make it home, exhausted but happy. I plop down on my couch, thinking about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. From spilled coffee to unexpected reunions and a parade. Druten, you crazy little town, you never cease to surprise me! And that’s my day. Just another wild ride in Druten. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
