Man, what a day! I swear, Eindhoven really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a raftsman, yeah? So, I’m used to the water, but today? Today was all about the streets. I had to run some errands. Gotta love the hustle, right? I hit up the Stratumseind first. It’s like the party street, full of bars and all that jazz. But at 10 AM? It’s dead. Just me and a couple of pigeons. I’m thinking, “Where’s the vibe, man?” Then, I’m walking down the street, and boom! I trip over a cobblestone. Like, who even put these here? I’m cursing under my breath, but then I see this cute little café, Café de Vooruitgang. I’m like, “Okay, maybe a coffee will fix my mood.” I order a cappuccino, and the barista? Total legend. He gives me a free cookie. Sweet, right? But then, I sit down, and this dude next to me starts talking about football. PSV Eindhoven, of course. I’m not even into football, but he’s so hyped. I’m nodding along, pretending to care. He’s like, “Did you see the last match?” I’m like, “Uh, yeah, totally!” I have no clue what he’s talking about. After that, I decide to hit up the Van Abbemuseum. Art, man! I love it. But I get there, and it’s closed for renovations. Seriously? I’m standing there like an idiot, staring at the door. I’m thinking, “What’s the point of art if I can’t see it?” So, I’m walking back, and I pass by the Dommel river. It’s kinda pretty, I guess. I sit on a bench, just chillin’. Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by with a kite. A freakin’ kite! I’m like, “Dude, it’s not even windy!” But he’s having the time of his life. Makes me smile, you know? Then, I decide to grab some lunch. I hit up this place called ‘De Burgerij’. Best burgers in town, no joke. I order the “Eindhoven Special.” It’s massive! I’m talking two patties, bacon, cheese, the works. I take a bite, and it’s like a flavor explosion. I’m in heaven. But then, I spill ketchup all over my shirt. Classic me, right? After lunch, I’m feeling good. I stroll down the Markt, checking out the shops. I see this cool vintage store on the corner of the Rechtestraat. I go in, and it’s packed with all this retro stuff. I find an old vinyl record of some Dutch band. I’m like, “This is gold!” But then, I step outside, and it starts pouring. Like, outta nowhere! I’m soaked in seconds. I’m running for cover, laughing at how ridiculous I must look. I duck into a random shop, and it turns out to be a bike store. I’m just standing there, dripping wet, while the owner gives me the weirdest look. Finally, the rain stops, and I’m like, “Okay, let’s wrap this up.” I head back to my raft, ready to chill. But as I’m walking, I see this street performer on the Emmasingel. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s actually kinda nice. I stop to listen, and for a moment, everything feels right. So, yeah, that was my day in Eindhoven. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? I’m exhausted, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
