Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in my little pottery studio on de Dijk, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head to the market on de Witte Dijk. I’m thinking, “Let’s grab some fresh veggies for my lunch.” But nah, the market’s packed! Like, where did all these people come from? I swear, it’s like a sardine can. I’m dodging strollers and old folks with their walkers. I finally snag some tomatoes, but then I spill my coffee all over my new apron. Great start, right? Then, I’m walking down the Hoofdstraat, and I see this cute little café. I’m like, “Ooh, let’s treat myself!” I order a slice of appeltaart, and it’s HUGE! Like, I could use it as a plate. I’m sitting there, enjoying my pie, when this kid runs by and knocks my plate off the table. I’m like, “Seriously, kid?!” But then I see his face, and he’s just so cute, I can’t even be mad. After that, I head back to my studio. I’m all pumped to throw some clay. I’ve got this idea for a new vase, right? But as soon as I start, my wheel starts acting up. It’s wobbling like it’s had too much to drink. I’m yelling at it, “C’mon, you piece of junk!” My neighbors must think I’m losing it. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Jan pops in. He’s like, “Hey, wanna go to the harbor?” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” So we head over to the haven, and it’s beautiful. The boats are bobbing, the water’s sparkling. I’m feeling all zen until I see this guy trying to park his boat. It’s a disaster! He’s yelling, “I got it! I got it!” But he totally doesn’t. He ends up crashing into the dock. I’m dying laughing. After that, we stroll down to the old church on de Kerkstraat. It’s stunning, man. I love the history there. I’m all deep in thought about how many potters have walked these streets. But then, Jan starts talking about his cat, and I’m like, “Dude, focus!” We finally make our way back, and I’m feeling all inspired. I get back to my studio, ready to create. But guess what? I realize I forgot to buy more clay! Ugh! I’m so mad at myself. I’m pacing around, thinking about how I can’t make my vase now. So, I decide to take a break and walk around the neighborhood. I hit up the park near de Witte Dijk. It’s so peaceful there. I sit on a bench, and this old man starts chatting with me about the weather. I’m like, “Yeah, it’s nice, but have you seen the price of clay lately?” He just laughs. Finally, I head back home, exhausted but happy. I think about all the craziness of the day. Grou is wild, man. It’s got its quirks, just like me. I love it here. Even with the spilled coffee, the kid, and the boat crash, it’s all part of the adventure. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another rollercoaster in Grou. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
