Man, what a day! I swear, being an insurance agent in Heythuysen can be a wild ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the road on the Molenstraat. You know, the one with all those cute little houses? I’m cruising, feeling good, when BAM! A cyclist zooms past me like he’s in the Tour de France. Dude, chill! It’s just Heythuysen, not the Champs-Élysées! I almost spilled my coffee. So, I get to the office on the Hoofdstraat, and it’s already chaos. My phone’s blowing up. Clients are calling, asking about their policies like it’s the end of the world. “What do you mean my car isn’t covered for alien abductions?” Like, come on, people! I can’t cover everything! Then, I get this one guy, let’s call him Jan. Jan’s got a claim for a broken window. Turns out, his cat knocked over a plant. A PLANT! I’m like, “Dude, you need to train your cat better.” But he’s all serious, “It’s a valuable plant!” I’m thinking, “Valuable? Is it made of gold?” After that, I decide to take a breather. I stroll down to the park on the Kerkstraat. It’s a nice spot, you know? Kids are playing, dogs are barking, and I’m just trying to chill. But then, I see this old lady struggling with her groceries. I rush over, feeling like a superhero. “Need a hand, ma’am?” She looks at me like I’m a freak. “I’m fine, young man!” Okay, lady, no need to bite my head off. Next, I head to the local café, De Koffiehoek. I order a cappuccino, and the barista, who’s like 12, spills it all over the counter. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” But then, he gives me a free cookie as an apology. Sweet! I’m back in a good mood. But wait, it gets better. I’m sitting there, enjoying my cookie, when I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it about... wait for it... the best way to cook potatoes. I’m dying! “You gotta boil them first!” “No, you roast them!” I’m thinking, “Guys, it’s just potatoes!” Finally, I head back to the office, and guess what? My computer crashes. Just my luck, right? I’m staring at the screen like it’s gonna magically fix itself. Nope. So, I call IT, and they’re like, “Have you tried turning it off and on?” Seriously? I’m not a tech wizard! By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I walk home through the streets of Heythuysen, thinking about all the craziness. I pass by the old church on the Markt, and it hits me. This little town has its quirks, but it’s home. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in Heythuysen, I guess!
